The versatile ExpoImaging Rogue FlashBender Large Positionable Reflector can be used either as a reflector to bounce light onto a subject, as a flag to shield light away from it or as a snoot to produce a tight and narrow circle of light. Because of its size, the Large Reflector is perfect for off-camera use. The design incorporates 3 positionable rods that allows it to be molded into position and held in place.
This FlashBender is made from the highest quality materials, including genuine Cordura nylon. The white reflective surface is made from a durable, wipeable, synthetic fabric which has been tested for neutrality so that it won't alter the color temperature of the reflected light.
This Rogue FlashBender requires no separate attachment strap, nor any adhesives to be applied to the strobe. The easy attachment belt built into this FlashBender is designed to work with all makes and models of shoe mount flashes.

I have owned the Honl 8" Snoot/Reflector for some time and, while I like it, it can be hard to get in the correct position. It tends to curl in causing me to constantly tweak it's position. The Rouge is much better at being an actual modifier because you can bend and position it anyway you choose and it stays put. I also like the white reflector surface. The surface on the Honl seems to have lost a lot of reflectivity over time.
The one downside, but to some it may be a positive, is the attachment system. It has a velcro strap built onto the unit. The Honl uses a strap around the flash and the reflector attaches to that. I think leaving the strap on the flash has advantages with switching to an Apollo Mini or a silver reflector etc. I also think it stays on better. Even so, I am loving the Rouge.

It's heavy and my flash won't stay at the angle desired.
Found that if I use it to bounce light forward - meaning I have the head facing directly behind me (still on camera) and round the FlashBender to bounce forward - I got a wide spread of medium soft light.
used outside where no bouncing or ocf wouldn't work.

Comments about ExpoImaging Rogue FlashBender Large Positionable Reflector:
Great tool for shaping nice even fill light, or when used as a snoot. My first shoot with the Flashbender was in a location with post & beam ceilings, dark walls and all lights turned off. Worth every penny that day. The only slight drawback was that in some positions my 430EX-II wanted to creep back down from the weight. Overall, Fantastic product!

How many ways can you control light from a small flash. Well, you can do a lot of them with this reflector!
Big diffuser surface that packs so small, you can take it anywhere. folds and bends to meet my needs perfectly, plus I can use it as a snoot white side in or out, depending on what I want the light to do.
Easy and quick to attach and adjust, too.

Bought the kit containing the large, small and flag. Having a small studio I can use these for portraits and still life shots. Can be used in thousands of different arrangements with my OCFs.

When we couldn't get our flash off the camera and we wanted to soften the light on our subject, the Rogue Flashbender immediately improved the quality of our images. It is built well and attached easily to our 580exii, as well as a 430exii.

Comments about ExpoImaging Rogue FlashBender Large Positionable Reflector:
I purchased the Rogue FlashBender because it is versatile, lightweight, and packable. It works well not only as a light modifier but also as a makeshift lens hood for those times when the one that came with the lens isn't large enough. (The flexible rods allow users to bend it into a position where it is out of the field of view.) It can also be used to keep rain off the front lens element.
What makes the FlashBender less than perfect could be easily addressed if ExpoImaging was so inclined. You can roll this product into a snoot but only in one direction. Why it isn't reversible so that the black side can be used on the interior of the "snoot" baffles me. Maybe I'm missing something.

Comments about ExpoImaging Rogue FlashBender Large Positionable Reflector:
I bought this hoping it could be a on size fits all modifier to keep in my bag. So far it's been extremely flexible and handy for tweaking the light effect. It is rather heavy and not quite as easy to adjust as I'd hope.

Comments about ExpoImaging Rogue FlashBender Large Positionable Reflector:
The Bender is the best diffuser/flash modifier I've ever used. Compared with my old flash-mounted umbrella... Well, they don't compare. The Bender is in a different league. It provides very soft light, but without neutering range. In fact, if you need more range, you can fold it into a tube to make a remarkably effective flash extender. As advertised, it doesn't alter my flash's color temperature, so it should pair well with your usual flash settings and perform predictably with gels.
I was tempted to remove one star since I'm not 100% confident that the bendable rods will remain pliable over time. But since the rest of this thing is built like a brick outhouse, the rods will probably be fine in the long run. I do advise caution if you're likely to use a Bender in the wind. It's tall and chunky enough to put quite a bit of stress on the hot shoe. With a metal shoe, it's probably not an issue, but I'd be careful if (like mine) your flash uses a plastic shoe.

I had to use it to do a product shot, and didn't want the flash to hit the shiny surface. It softened the lighting just enough.

Comments about ExpoImaging Rogue FlashBender Large Positionable Reflector:
Great accessory for speelites. I use these mainly as flags, but also work great as quick reflector or snoot.
It does weigh enough to cause the head of a speedlite to rotate, so I simply pivot down to its maximum setting.
Construction seems good. My first FlashBender is over 1 year old, and still holding up fine.

I use this product primarily for close-up photography (e.g., flowers and bugs). It works great. Very simple to use - attaches easily to my Canon flash and adjusts easily. It works equally well for quick portraits without the red-eye and harsh shadows. Low tech, but high quality.

These are great. They fit in the laptop pocket of my camera bag. With the diffusion panels they just became even more versatile and useful. I prefer the Rogue system over Honl.

Comments about ExpoImaging Rogue FlashBender Large Positionable Reflector:
Quite inexpensive considering its usefulness. Easy to pack and very simple to set up/strap on. Used it outside for a shoot on a rainy and windy day. No way I could have used an umbrella or even a soft box. No problem for the FlashBender. Beautiful results! Nice even light from my SB900 held off camera. I personally do not see weight as an issue as other reviews have posted.

This is certainly less expensive than other flash diffusers, but it works very well and can be directed easily.
