The nanoFlash Bundle from Convergent Design records video, audio and timecode from an HD-SDI stream onto readily available CompactFlash (CF) cards, employing the high quality Sony 4:2:2 MPEG2 codec for compression. Boasting an incredibly small size and super low-power consumption, the nanoFlash stands poised to revolutionize the broadcast video industry.
This camera-mountable device is a miniaturized version of the award-winning Flash XDR, and has two CF card slots plus embedded audio support. The nanoFlash can be powered from a camcorder battery (6.5-20VDC) or the included AC power supply, and records 1080i60/50, 1080p30/25/24 or 720p60/50 at full raster 4:2:2 MPEG-2, at 50/100 Mbps (long GOP) or 100/160 Mbps (I-frame only). As both a recorder and player, the nanoFlash sports HD-SDI I/O as well as LTC in, wired remote control and a power/start/tally light connector.
Along with the AC power supply, this bundle includes a hotshoe ball mount for mounting the nanoFlash to the top of your camera, a CompactFlash card reader, and the requisite power and I/O cables. All you need is a camera and memory cards, and you're ready to shoot!

Comments about Convergent Design nanoFlash Bundle:
The Nano Flash is ideal for recording digital XD or DVCPro HD files using a tape based professional camera. I use it with my Panasonic HDX900 to make it a second XDcam, during 2 camera shoots using the Sony PDW 800 as the other camera.
Flawless recording and easy downloads amke it the ideal solution in today's files based non linear editing workflow.

Comments about Convergent Design nanoFlash Bundle:
We use this with a Sony HDCAM camera - ideal since HDCAM tapes are impossible to come by since the disaster in Japan - as well as the new Sony F3.
Excellent range of options including timelapse and cranking, works with fairly inexpensive CF cards (SxS and P2 cards are far more expensive) and is simple and easy to operate.
Low power consumption - works nicely piggybacked off a V mount battery with an adaptor cable from the V mount to DTAP.
HDMI out fed to a Zacuto EVF on the F3 allows record indication - and of course the HDMI out works in parallel with the SDI out. All in all this nanoflash is a great match to the F3.
Video quality in all modes is excellent - even with the HDCAM cameras.
Well built and very solid.

Comments about Convergent Design nanoFlash Bundle:
This NanoFlash is amazing !
It fits every camera everywhere ! I use it with a PMW-EX1 and with a PDW-700 too. If your camera is 4:2:0 only, then do not hesitate. And if it is 4:2:2, the NanoFlash will give you upto 140 (long-gop) or 280 Mbps (i-Frame).
Even if you are using a Panasonic DVCPRO100 camera, the NanoFlash will be useful to increase your picture quality.
I am using NanoFlashes in a multi-HD-Camera shooting, where the NanoFlash allows me to record on all camera with the same long-gop 100Mbps... (PDW-F355 + PDW-700 + EX1 + EX3) So, no nore problems with FCP saying that the different timelines are not at the same format...
And - at the end of the line - it will be a very nice HD player to show your customer the result at the better quality.
