The Pearstone VT-2100 Fluid Head Video Tripod is a portable, lightweight video tripod that can support cameras weighing up to 15 lbs. Its two-way pan head features separate pan and tilt locks for stable, locked-down shots, or you can pan a full 360° and tilt up and down for smooth tracking of action. An internal bubble level helps you keep the tripod level on uneven ground, while the built-in mid-level spreader holds the legs secure during readjustment.
Another great feature is the geared center column, which uses a hand crank to easily raise or lower the camera to find that perfect height (as high as 64.3"). Whether you're shooting with a DSLR, small camcorder, or even a digital point-and-shoot, the VT-2100 will give you the stability your videos need. And if you suddenly need to go handheld, the tripod's quick-release plate lets you easily snap the camera loose and indulge your inner Cloverfield.

I've been an amateur videographer for about a year now, purchasing and using consumer grade equipment and learning by trial and error as I go along. I use a tripod and digital camcorder to video lectures and presentations. The tripod that I had been using previously was cheap and not of the fluid head variety; this is my first experience using this kind of tripod. I chose it because of good reviews, and I couldn't afford to pay many hundreds of dollars more for a commercial grade fluid head tripod.
The first thing I noticed about this tripod is that the action is much "stiffer" than my old friction head tripod. It was so "stiff," even after loosening the adjustment, that at first I thought that something was wrong with it. I have now decided that this is probably what a fluid head is supposed to feel like, because as I'm using it I find that the camera motion is WAY smoother and less "jerky" than my old tripod. It's really easy to make small adjustments slowly with just one finger by applying a small amount of pressure and watching carefully as the camera seems to just "flow" in the direction that you push it. This is definitely more controllable than my old cheap tripod!
It might bother some that there's a lot of plastic in the construction, but it's pretty solid and I don't think that it's likely to break very easily.
The zippered carry pouch that comes with it is a huge plus - it's made out of some type of thin vinyle material that feels a little flimsy, but I'll try to take it easy on it and hope it lasts a while.
All in all I'm very happy with it - I have had it only a week but I've already got about 12 hours of filming on it already. It is what it is; a basic entry level fluid head tripod. I like it - keep in mind that I don't have any experience with professional grade equipment, but I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

I was looking for a portable, light tripod with a fluid head, and this fit the bill. The tripod is always strapped on a backpack and used while skiing, hiking, mountain biking. The only issue we've had is that one of the foot pieces has already fallen off - only a week old. Granted, I probably caught it on a tree while skiing, and not sure if that is a replaceable part.
The fluid head is great, and at 4.5 pounds, I barely notice it's on my back.

Getting this tripod, compared to the one I was using is like driving a 1993 Toyota Celica and jumping into a BMW. Smooth, fluid pan head...easy to collapse and take on shoots! It cranks up very high and is amenable to me shooting stand uppers for live events. This is perfect for a studio or remote application. You'll love this tripod!!

I bought this tripod because I needed something light, but sturdy to use in the field under "run and shoot" conditions. The price was right, the tripod is solid, and the carrying case is a nice extra.

Comments about Pearstone VT-2100 Fluid Head Video Tripod:
This replaced a $30 tripod I bought a few years ago to get me by, and I'm very happy with the results I've gotten from this tripod. The pan/tilt is very consistent and smooth for video work. The height capabilities are ample. Great build quality, while being light and moderately compact. The mounting sled has a cool spring-loaded feature that releases the lock when you place the camera in the head. The only con for this product is, the zipper on the included carrying bag got stuck the second time I used it so, I had to cut the zipper open to get the tripod out. Seemed like a nice bag, but looks were deceiving. Bag issues aside, this is a great tripod and an amazing value!

I've been looking for a decently priced tripod for use with my T2i for shooting video. This seems to fit the bill.
I'm happy with how fluid and light it is. Its great for the price.
I'm unhappy with the play at the base of the neck of the tripod. Has a bit of a wobble. And it also seems like the plastic parts are a little lower quality than I expected.

Comments about Pearstone VT-2100 Fluid Head Video Tripod:
I use it to film football games, it has to be smooth and without any jerking as the plays progress. I needed something that was cost effective. For the price I paid this tripod was perfect! It has a little give here or there but it beats paying $700 for a tripod that's only marginally better. Also the camera adapter locks into place and doesn't let your camera shift from left to right or front to back.

Comments about Pearstone VT-2100 Fluid Head Video Tripod:
It works well for locked down shots and fairly well for tracking shots. I recommend to keep a hand on it while making camera moves. Due to the lightweight nature of the product it tends to be a bit unsteady during Pans and Tilts.

It's good at what it does, I just wasn't smart enough to read that it's just not tall enough for my liking. So other than that great tripod, extends nicely rotates nicely, etc

Comments about Pearstone VT-2100 Fluid Head Video Tripod:
I bought this tripod after trying some even cheaper "fluid head" tripods which were all junk. I was pleasantly surprised! The head has a really nice fluid movement, with minimal jittering/shaking with a little practice. The whole thing feels very sturdy despite some parts being made of plastic. The carrying case is sturdy and doesn't fit too tightly (unlike some cheaper ones). It's very easy to level and only takes a few seconds to set up or collapse.
I'm using this with a Panasonic GH1, and I think the motion might be even smoother with a slightly heavier camera.
Overall, it's an excellent buy for the price.

Lightweight pod with great action - no jitters when panning or tilting. Only bad thing is that it's so light, if you tap it with an elbow, the video experienced is similar to an earthquake.

Comments about Pearstone VT-2100 Fluid Head Video Tripod:
Because I use the tripod to double as a photography tripod, I wish the VT-2100 tilted to allow for vertical shots. I can't seem to find an accessory to fit the bill, so I'll likely end up making a DIY L-bracket for vertical photos (and possibly video).
Otherwise, I've been impressed with the quality of this inexpensive tripod

I got the this tripod to use with my 5DMKII and so far I'm very pleased with it. The fluid Head is nice and smooth (both pan and tilt). The footage I shot looks like it was shot on a more expensive tripod.
