The skeleton of the kit is the Redrock Micro DSLR Field Cinema Deluxe Bundle v2, which is designed to allow the operator to shoot smooth, film-like imagery in a handheld configuration. The three points of contact (shoulder pad and dual handgrips) help eliminate the camera jitter that's a common pitfall of shooting handheld with small cameras. Based on pair of industry-standard 15mm rods, the DSLR Field Cinema Deluxe Bundle v2 hosts at its two ends a shoulder pad with counterbalance weights and the wide-set handgrips that are attached to a third 15mm carbon-fiber rod. The kit's monitor also mounts to this third rod. Mounting on the camera baseplate is the MicroFollowFocus device, which features film-pitch gearing (microLensGears not included). The microBalance counterweight is designed to offset the weight of the front-mounted monitor.
Also included with the kit is a Marshall Electronics LCD50-HDMI 5" LCD monitor with HDMI input. Its resolution is 800 x 480. Brightness is rated at 300 cd/m2 and contrast at 600:1. The monitor's false color and peaking filters are crucial aids for setting exposure and pulling focus accurately.
The kit features a full system for camera and accessory power that was devised specifically for the Canon 5D Mk II, 7D, and 60D DSLR cameras. The Anton Bauer Dionic 90 Li-Ion Battery works with the QR-DSLR Gold Mount and the Canon DR-E6 DC coupler to supply 7.2V to the camera. The Switronix Marshall LCD50 P-Tap Cable (24") converts power from the Gold Mount for the monitor. A Tandem-70 charger/AC adapter refills the Dionic 90 battery in under 2 hours.
