The B+W 77mm 3.0 ND MRC 110M Filter is a solid neutral density filter providing a 10 stop exposure. This 3.0 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily. Neutral density filters do not affect the overall coloration of the image.
The Multi-Resistant Coating (MRC) is both an anti-reflection coating as well as a protective surface. It helps to increase light transmission by reducing reflections, scattered light, and ghosting. Additionally, it offers greater protection to the filter substrate and stays cleaner for longer than uncoated filters.
B+W filters are constructed from high quality Schott glass for increased optical clarity and color fidelity. They feature a brass filter ring for durability as well as jamming prevention.

I use this filter to get great Long Exposures. The colour is unique, but I usually do it for a black and white final edit. I use it with the ND 1.8 to get to an 8 minute exposure for an amazing effect. It screws on easily and doesn't get stuck, it's super clear and it comes with nice casing. Worth every penny.

this is a specialist filter, used when you want to blur the motion of running water while keeping everything else tack sharp, or when you want an urban photo without identifiable people or vehicles; 5 s at f/11 in daylight. It has a bit of a colour cast, but less than any other I've tried with similar light attenuation. It's so dark though that you need to setup your photo and focus first then add the filter, or else shoot blind with preset manual focus.

Comments about B+W 77mm 3.0 ND MRC 110M Filter:
I bought this filter to cut down the light entering my lens while shooting a solar eclipse. It cuts the light by a factor of 1000, or ten stops (1024x). It adds a slight warmth to the image which is easy to correct in post-processing. Solid construction and effective coatings make it a pleasure to use.

Comments about B+W 77mm 3.0 ND MRC 110M Filter:
I'm really having a lot of fun with this filter. Luckily we still have plenty of water flowing through our local stream and rivers so there is ample opportunity for me to get that nice creamy water effect. The pictures I get when using it are beautiful and I haven't seen even a hint of color cast when using it on my Canon 24-105 F/4 lens, even at 24mm.
My only complaint is that it can be hard to thread it onto your lens or other filters if your camera is precariously placed. You can't focus or see anything with the filter on so you have to set up your shot and then put the filter on. I like to put my camera low over the water and in the middle of the cold stream. Putting a filter on can be quite difficult in these circumstances.

The following is not an exaggeration:
This filter has changed the way I see and take landscape pictures for the rest of my life.
Moving clouds, flowing water, deep saturated colors... This filter will allow you to take some very creative pictures. And the build quality is top-notch. It is very expensive but it is also worth every penny.
The only to watch out for is the color shift. Nearly all 10-stop filters have a certain color shift. Just make sure you shoot in RAW and tweak the White Balance in post-processing.

Comments about B+W 77mm 3.0 ND MRC 110M Filter:
I shoot a lot of HDR and have always been intrigued about how pictures taken with the ND10 filter resemble HDR. I decided to finally take the plunge and buy it and I couldn't be happier! Cityscapes with cloud movement, rivers and streams and people milling about the streets all have that little something extra when they are seen in a long exposure with this filter! No complaints at all so far! Just make sure that you cover/close the viewfinder when taking a long exposure during the day to avoid light leaking in.

Comments about B+W 77mm 3.0 ND MRC 110M Filter:
When used properly, great effects can be obtained with clouds and water bodies. There is no significant vignetting down to 17mm (the widest I have) and when stopped down. On the other hand, there is a noticeable color cast that appears as a brownish tint. Some may see it as a nice effect. If it is not to your liking, you could correct it in post-processng, or use a costom white balance.

Comments about B+W 77mm 3.0 ND MRC 110M Filter:
I use this filter to take images in which I want to cause motion to blur into softness. The filter does exactly as expected, 10 stop reduction of light with very little color cast. Really high quality glass and mount.
Comments about B+W 77mm 3.0 ND MRC 110M Filter:
I swear by B+W MC filters. The build quality and quality of the glass for the price is simply the best. This 10-stop ND filter is nothing short of what you would expect from B+W. You will get a slight color shift but nothing that can't be corrected in the digital dark room. I was trying to decide between this one and the Hoya. The brass construction was a big deciding factor considering i sometimes stack filters and don't want to take the risk of them sticking.

Comments about B+W 77mm 3.0 ND MRC 110M Filter:
The best 10 stop ND filter I have. Started out buying even a more expensive variable density filter that failed in so many ways. This screw on filter is so much easier to deal with than 4x4 filters with filter holder adaptor ring etc
The B&W ND110 has a slight color cast on the red side, but its an easy fix. I find all darker ND filters from 0.6 and up have a slight color cast.

Comments about B+W 77mm 3.0 ND MRC 110M Filter:
This filter works great if you are looking for a replacement to the LEE big stopper- which can be hard to get these days.
I recently used this filter to get longer exposure times during the daytime. You can easily find yourself shooting 8-10 second exposures in direct sunlight with this filter. This helps eliminate people from your shot since they tend to move too fast to be recorded in most situations, and it makes things like clouds and trees blur into pleasing shapes that imply motion.
It is a true 10-stop ND, it does show some color shift towards red/magenta, but thats easily correctable with a new white balance. The filter threads were smooth on my ZE lenses.
