I actually like the results produced by the Mola Demi with the stock P.A.D. in place. However, I view the opal diffusion glass as the "icing on the cake." The cake's great on its own, but the icing tops it off quite nicely.

The diffusion glass reduces the hot spot in the center and creates a more even core of light. It's kind of a pain to install (as you have to disassemble the complete P.A.D., but once it's on, you'll probably never want to take it off.

I wanted this disk for use with my Mola Demi. I couldn't be happier. Having the disk attached smooths out the center spot and enhances Mola's already stellar light quality. I just wish they weren't so hard to get!(4 stars) I should have ordered two. One for now and one for when I get my next Mola, so I'm not waiting forever. One other thing. THESE ARE GLASS! If you travel with your Mola's, I would highly recommend a good case. I also attach my grid to the front of my Demi to protect the diffusion disk. Mola recommends removing the disk when traveling, but it's kind of a pain putting it back on. Besides, regular removal only heightens the chance you'll break it when reattaching it.

The included PAD is OK, but the opal glass insures a nice, clean disbursment of light with no "hot" spots! Should've been included with the original purchase...but there you go...more $$ if you want what you want! Not totally necessary! But I thought it was worth the expense, given the difference in light quality! You may think differently!

The addition of this opal glass made my Demi perfectly smooth, no more hot spot in the center from the OEM supplied perforated aluminum disc. It's not cheap, but it's real glass and worth every penny.
