Built around a powerful dual-processor desktop workstation from SuperMicro and an HD/SD-SDI, HDMI & analog I/O card from Matrox, the system comes preinstalled with Avid's Media Composer 6.0 professional video editing software.
The installed nVIDIA Quadro 4000 is a qualified graphics card for the 64-bit software application, accelerating its effects processing. Meanwhile, in addition to performing input & output for a wide variety of audio & video signal types, the Mojito MAX PCIe card supports Media Composer by executing hardware-based real-time up/down/cross conversion for going from one format to another, as well as hardware-based H.264 encoding.
There's also a pair of controls that will enable professional-level productivity when working with the NLE software: a Contour Design ShuttlePRO v2 jog/shuttle controller (with 15 programmable buttons) and a Logic Keyboard with color-coded keycaps and icons that highlight the keyboard shortcuts used in Media Composer. In addition, the workstation comes with 1 TB of internal storage, an 8-port RAID adapter, a 4-bay RAID array, a 3-Port FireWire-800 and FireWire-400 PCI Host Card and a Class on Demand card (good for two years) that gives you access to any one video-based training package.
