Cineroid EVF4C Overview

The Cineroid EVF4C Electronic Viewfinder offers an eyepiece view or an LCD view. The eyepiece/optical loupe can be flipped or detached completely to reveal a 3.2" LCD with an 800 x 480 resolution.

Atop the eyepiece is a diopter adjuster. When you're in eyepiece mode, you can rotate the adjuster until the image in view becomes clear. For extending loupe length, an extension tube comes included to be placed behind the eyepiece.

Connection to a camera and output to a preview monitor are both by HDMI. For monitoring audio, a speaker is built in and a 3.5mm headphone jack is also available. The EVF4C has a 1/4" screw-hole at its bottom. A great way to mount is by articulating arm via the 1/4" screw-hole. Otherwise, you can mount onto camera hot-shoes and tripods per an optional mini shoe-mount adapter.

In addition to dedicated menu buttons, the unit features programmable buttons. Many features, such as peaking and zebra, can be programmed into these buttons for quick-access and smooth operation.

Peaking
Helps with focus by outlining the edges of focused subjects. The EVF4C features two types of peaking: white and red outlines.
Clip Guide
Defines highly-overexposed areas by pasting them with dramatic colors.
Saturation Zebra
Indicates with "lines" whether exposure has gone beyond / below trigger points. Trigger points are assignable per a threshold measurement displayed on-screen. Zebra range is selectable between 3, 5, 8 and 11%. Two types of Zebra lines are available -- moving and fixed.
False Color
Reveals exposure by displaying subjects in limited colors, showing exposure rate with 6 different colors. Two types of false color settings are available.
Crop Guide
Darkens portions of the viewing area to help frame a shot in accordance with what it will look like when later cropped to be viewed in different aspect ratios.
Anamorphic
Changes the ratio of an image distorted by an anamorphic lens so to display the image properly. The EVF4C features pre-defined ratios but ratios can also be adjusted manually.
Pixel to Pixel Mapping
Zooms into and displays a portion of an image with every pixel that the portion was captured in even if it was captured in a resolution higher than that of the EVF4C's.
Monochrome (Black and White)
Displays an image in grayscale.
Underscan
Slightly shrinks an image to reveal the edges of its frame; useful for certain production objectives.
Audio Level
Displays on screen the audio levels captured. (A speaker and headphone jack are available for monitoring captured audio.)
Screen Flip
Rotates an image in various ways to support different vertical and horizontal mounting options.
Custom Keys
The EVF4C has quick-access buttons that the above features can be programmed into.
