Still printing to my LJ 1100 printer with no parallel port

Since my latest desktop PC doesn't have a parallel port, I either had to donate this printer but instead purchased this parallel to USB conversion cable. I'm glad I did since it worked perfectly after connecting it to the mini centronics parallel cable that comes with the printer. I had recently bought a new toner cartridge so now I'm able to print documents to my LJ 1100 personal printer.

Will this cable work to connect an older printer to a mac laptop?

It will physically connect the two but moast likely there is no printer driver available for the printer to use with the Mac OS.
