I was in need of one of these and was soooo excited to find out that this existed and that it was conveniently stocked at B & H. I bought it and couldn't not find the time to test it for quite some time (I think it has been at least two months since I bought it, leaving it nestled safely in the box in which it came) - just tried using it and immediately smelled burning upon plugging it in. Not good!

question

Will this product work if you are converting your laptop display via svideo to a splitter that has 6 plasma tv displays?
Asked by: Anonymous
I suppose that would work if you already have a x6 S-Video splitter and 6 plasmas with S-Video inputs. The S-Video will add interlacing which is not always desirable. You don't have VGA inputs on your plasmas? I would rather see your VGA output duplicated via a distribution amp (DA) and then pushed to each display. I would prefer to see an active DA (powered). I originally bought this device to run computer visuals through an analogue SD video mixer. I hope this helps.
