Quantum Instruments AC Module for QPACX Reviews

Expensive lesson learned

I made the mistake of buying a new battery when I really did not have the activity to use it. Although I faithfully kept it charged monthly, after a year, my X5d will not fire in 400 watt mode. Perhaps the battery is going bad already. Lesson learned. This unit will allow me to save the expense of batteries that do not hold their power and use it in the studio--works great.

Plugs rigtht in to the other modules, light weight, has a decently long cord. Works just fine.

question

I bought a QPAC command module and a couple of Qflash X flash heads...don't know the first thing about them. I see the Command module allows two (2) flashes to be connected...I assume if you connect 1 it's at 400 watts, if 2 are connected it's 200 watts???If I am correct that it handles two flashes...if I buy the PR4 I assume it totally replaces the PR batteries AND it will also handle two (2) X flashes...kinda like a mobile studio set up?

Hi there,A PR4 do indeed replace the use of battery. The current PXC command provides 200watts power only, thus, It does not increase your flash power to 400watts second. You need another 200watts PXC modules to make it 400 watts by attaching it below the PXC command modues and below is your PR4 for A/C power. You are able to switch between 200watt or 400watts by changing the switch, after you have plug one of the flach onto the 400watt indication plug.If you plug in 2 flash onto the two port, it provide each flash with 200watts.To make it 800watt at 2 port, you need 3 200watt PXC modules, any excess of 200watt modules will not make it higher.I hope it help. Please remenber, 200watt s PXC modules will add power.
