Working With Camcorder and DSLR XLR Adapters
Videographers use camcorder and DSLR XLR adapters to record high-quality, synchronized audio with their cameras and video recorders. In many cases, these audio adapters are excellent additions to your DSLR cameras.
Advantages of DSLR XLR Adapters
With DSLR XLR audio adapters, you can plug multiple microphones into a single DSLR camera or camcorder. These adapters are usually quite small, lightweight, and easily attach to the bottom of your camera, making an audio adapter easier to handle than a portable field mixer. These adapters are useful if you're shooting on a budget because you don't need a large crew to handle separate pieces of audio equipment. Without these adapters, you would need additional mic operators or sound engineers to handle the more complex gear. DSLR XLR adapters also help impedance imbalance issues with a simple Y-cable used to plug in two mics.
Additional Features of Camcorder and DSLR XLR Adapters
DSLR XLR audio adapters are usually modular so that you can upgrade and customize them. Upgrades and customizations will depend on the model and brand you choose, as some are more advanced than others. You can connect headphones to your adapter to monitor the audio recording more closely. If you prefer to control your audio levels visually, choose an XLR adapter that features an LED audiometer. Attaching Your DSLR XLR Adapter
