Direct fit for 58mm lens size. No adapter rings to loosen up. Premium lens worth the extra money. Is also 82mm threaded for a external UV lens protector.

I needed a wide angle lens to shot a dance show. Being were I had to shot from the lens on the G30 didn't cover the area I needed to shot. I added this lens and I was able to shot the whole stage. The lens works well in low lignt as well as out doors. A little fish eye when zoomed out but just tap the zoom button a little and that it's gone. The lens does such a good job I leave it on the G30 all of the time. Con's: The only con is the lens is heavy. The weight makes it a little harder to hand hold the CC for any lenght of time. That's were a good tripod comes into play. But still doable in run and gun shooting. For the money a great add-on to my G30.

Do you know if they make a lens hood for the Raynox HD-7000 Pro 58mm 0.7x High Quality Wide Angle Converter Lens?

Extreme wide angle lenses often cannot use lens hoods because the hood is usually visible in the frame before it actually gets a chance to block stray light hitting the lens. In my years as a motion picture camera assistant, I found that with wide angle lenses if you want to block unwanted light hitting the lens, you have to figure out a way to block the light near the source rather than at the lens. In the case of the sun causing unwanted flare, a grip stand with a flag as far as possible from the camera but out of frame should do it. We do have a rubber shade I do recommend for this lens. It will not really block unwanted light but it will help to protect the lens from damage.

How good is this for a Canon XA40? My Kenko ...

How good is this for a Canon XA40? My Kenko KRW-065 Pro DX smears colors at the edges and vignettes badly. I need a sharp image.

It has the proper mounting thread and it will work, but of course there are many models available. This one is a pretty good option at a very attractive price.

Has anyone tried this on a Sony FDR-AX53 (with 55mm-to-58mm step up ring)? (Or on the AX33 or AX100)? If so, any feedback on how well it worked?

While this lens has not been specifically tested on the AX53 you could certainly attach it with a 55-58mm Step-Up Ring. The AX33 has a 52mm thread, while the AX100 has a 62mm thread. Those are more popular sizes for Wide Angle Conversion lenses and Raynox makes options that will attach directly to those cameras.

Is this compatible with a Nikon Lens given that the filter threat size is the same? I can't find any reviews that this is tested on a DSLR Nikon Lens, but i sure hope it does given that i already ordered it from here.

If it has the same filter thread, then it will mount. It is should perform as you anticipate. However, image quality for this unknown combination is not guaranteed.

Is it too heavy for the Panasonic HC-X920?

I use this on a canon xa20 for occasional extra wide footage. The added ounces are certainly noticeable if hand carrying the camera. It would shift the balance of weight forward in a small camera. But the image quality is excellent and I'm happy to have the capability to get extra wide imagery at a reasonable cost.

Using the Sony AX100 video camera, what is the 35mm wide angle equivalent for this adapter? I shoot video for Real Estate and I was wondering if this would be wide enough. I use a 5DII DSLR with a 17-40 lens and typically shoot footage at 17 or 20mm. I could live with 20mm (35m equivalent). Thank you for the help.

We also shoot with a 5D Mark III and also have the 17-40 lens and it's pretty comparable to this, as far as width goes. I think you will be happy with it.
