I tried my first astrophotography recently at the Bodie Island Lighthouse in North Carolina. For a first effort, it wasn't too painful! However, I really appreciated your tip on taking multiple star images AFTER doing the foreground. I had not thought of that before doing mine. So, I learned something new today. Thanks.
Thank you Phillip! This is why we do what we do here at B&H Explora. It's our goal to provide as much of our knowledge regarding the use of that gear as we possibly can.
Enjoyed your tips. Only wish I lived--or at least could easily visit--where the landscape is quite incredible, instead of here on the east coast, where it's somewhat less inspiring.
As East Coast city dwellers , we hear you! We suggest that when you can't find landscapes that you consider inspiring, take a good look around the areas near your home that are accessible and try to see them in a new light. You may not have a starry sky, but you may have an incredible skyline to photograph. Sometimes the best photos can be made right in your own backyard.
