Korg Debuts New Synths, Workstations, Turntables, and More

Korg showed up to NAMM 2025 with a bevy of new products and music tech, including brand-new synthesizers, turntables, and workstations, as well as new digital accordions, pedal tuners, and much more. Here’s everything that caught our eye at this year’s NAMM show.

Multi/Poly Analog Modeling Synthesizer Module

Earlier this year, Korg released the Korg Multi/Poly keyboard synthesizer, which blends rich, classic analog sounds with modern digital flexibility that’s inspired by the much-revered Mono/Poly synthesizer. The Multi/Poly Module is offered in a standard 19” rackmount-sized module. This next-generation synthesizer combines East-coast, West-coast, and wavetable oscillators with a wide selection of modeled filters, modeled portamento, modeled envelopes, and modeled VCAs. What’s more, you can create hardware mashups between all of these modeled circuits to create your own unique instruments.

Programs include four oscillators, a noise generator, dual filters, and three insert effects, plus a massively flexible modulation system with four looping DAHDSR envelopes, five LFOs, six Mod Processors, three key-track generators, and multi-lane Motion Sequencing 2.0. The instrument offers 4-part multitimbrality for independent and layered controls. There’s even a Layer Rotate function that triggers new programs with each press of a key. This is a seriously powerful instrument with a nod to the classics but reaches much farther in sound design potential.

miniKORG 700SM

Korg wowed everyone with the revival of the original miniKORG 700. This year, you can acquire the sound and performance capabilities of the reissue, but with a unit that’s 86% of the size for even more portability. Enjoy the same amazing sound and playability in a smaller package without sacrificing playability.

The miniKORGSM produces some of the fattest and most dense sounds of all KORG synthesizers, thanks to the oscillators with their penetrating  sound and an authentic recreation of the Traveler controller. The instrument is the perfect match for lead and bass synth sounds with a strong presence. The new version also features aftertouch for added expressiveness, as well as important features such as an arpeggiator, USB port, MIDI IN connector, and a CV/GATE IN jack. They've also added a memory program button, so there’s no need for players to write down the positions of the knobs and levers to recreate their favorite sounds.

Kronos 3 Music Workstation

Available in 61-key, 73-key, and 88-key versions, the Kronos 3 builds upon the success of the original groundbreaking instruments for the studio and stage. This next-generation professional music workstation offers a vast palette of sounds, integrated editing, detailed 8” TouchView display with gesture support, 16-track sequencer, 16-track audio recorder, and extensive sampling capabilities. There are nine distinct sound engines including SGX-2 premium piano sounds, EP-1 electric pianos, and MOD-7 for FM synthesis. The SGX-2 features new Italian Grand and Berlin Grand sounds for the ultimate in realism.

The integrated Set List mode offers streamlined live performance capabilities with color-coded presets, real-time performance notes, and built-in EQ. The Seamless Sound Transmission (SST) prevents audio dropouts when switching sound, an essential feature when performing live. Plus, sliders, knobs, and joystick offer excellent real-time performance control and expression. The 61-key version offers a Natural Touch semi-weighted action, while the 73- and 88-key versions feature the RH3 weighted hammer action keys for ultra-realistic piano performance. With over 200 voices allocated across the engines, the 16-track sequencer will playback every note you desire. 

FISA SUPREMA C

Accordion players will rejoice over the next evolution of Aero digital accordions, which despite their smaller and more portable size, offer a wealth of advanced technology and an authentic playing experience. Available in 37-key or 92-Button, the FISA SUPREMA C delivers unmatched convenience while preserving the playability and all the rich, expressive sound that made the standard SUPREMA such a game-changer.

There are 45 meticulously crafted accordion types covering accordions from all over the world. You can even customize your perfect instrument by choosing the type of reed and deciding whether to reed is placed inside or outside the Cassuto (tone chamber), add growl and mechanical noise, tuning, and bass layout. In the real world, an acoustic accordion poses several challenges including micing difficulty, limited flexibility with tone, lack of headphones for quiet practicing, and the absence of MIDI capabilities for express performances. The FISA SUPREMA C does all these things, making it a wholly unique instrument with modern flare.

Pitchblack X Pedal Tuner

Available in a limited-edition blue, the Pitchblack X Pedal Tuner is the flagship model of Korg’s successful tuning pedal series and features advanced and flexible tuning capabilities for a variety of applications. It features a large and easy-to-read display that’s visible in any setting-from full daylight, to stage light, to no light. The LED meter ensures accurate visual tuning from any angle. The smooth eleven-segment LED meter allows accurate visual tuning from any angle, and the large note name display also features a tuning guide that indicates whether your instrument is sharp or flat. The LED meter can be switched between four display modes including:

• Meter Mode: Similar to a needle meter, this mode allows you to tune by lining up the green LED with the center, with lights to the right being sharp and lights to the left being flat.

• Full Strobe Mode: Tune your instrument by making the LED meters stop streaming. The LED meters will stream from left to right if your instrument is sharp and from right to left if it is flat.

• Half Strobe Mode: Tune your instrument by making the LED meters stop streaming and only the green LED in the center is lit. When pitch is correct, only the center LED will be lit.

• Mirror Mode: Tuning is performed by making the two LEDs on the left and right sides of the center LED meet in the middle and both tuning guide LEDs are lit. The pitch lit LEDs will spread farther apart the more your instrument is out of tune.

Handytraxx Portable Record Player

Designed music aficionados, audiophiles, and performing DJs, the handytraxx portable record players have something for everyone. There are four models on offer, three with integrated Nutube technology for harmonically rich sound reproduction and a DJ model with a built-in crossfader, multimode filter, and effects. 

The handytraxx tube is designed for audiophiles and professional DJs and includes built-in stereo speakers, a portable design, and battery operation. Nutube technology delivers a rich, warm sound experience, no matter where life’s winding road leads you. The robust die-cast aluminum platter ensures precise and stable rotation, enabling accurate and consistent playback of your favorite records. The player achieves superior rotational stability by utilizing a belt-driven system complemented by specially developed software that constantly monitors pitch and speed to maintain optimal performance. The unit ships with the JICO J44A 7 MM-type cartridge, which offers dynamic powerful bass and excellent tracking.

The handytraxx tube J offers the same attributes as the standard tube model, but ships with the JICO Clipper MM cartridge, which outperforms ordinary MM cartridges and supplies superior audio fidelity and compatibility with JICOs N44-7 and N44G styli in addition to its exclusive CRCP/MK1 stylus. Expect a truly immersive Hi-Fi sound stage and an elevated listening experience for vinyl purists. 

The handytraxx 1bit allows you to experience the pinnacle of analog recording and play back, thanks to the integrated high-definition USB recording preamp which allows you to capture your favorite records in stunning 5.6 MHz 1-bit (DSD format.  The turntable comes with AudioGate 4, Korg’s renowned high-resolution audio and music conversion software. With its advanced recording capabilities, you can set up a seamless recording system by connecting the handytraxx 1bit to your computer via USB. Recording and playback in 5.6 MHz and 2.8 MHz DSD as well as PCM formats up to 192 kHz / 24-bit. Transfer these digital files to your Mac/PC for safe archiving then transfer them to a portable audio player or smartphone for safe, high quality on-the-go enjoyment of your vinyl collection.

The handytraxx play is designed for mobile DJs and vinyl enthusiasts. It forgoes the Nutube technology and USB preamp for recording for outstanding turntablist features and functions. Inspired by the original Vestex Handy Trax, the player features innovative digital effects, a built-in looper, and high-quality controls that make it possible to physically play with records on the go. The unit is optimized for scratching and offers a customizable crossfader. There are three types of filters and a built-in delay effect, which allows you to elevate your creative potential. The handytraxx play delivers an unparalleled portable turntable experience that's perfect for casual vinyl lover and hardcore portable turntablist.
