Sennheiser Releases MKE 200 On-Camera Microphone for DSLRs and Smartphones
09/01/2020Sennheiser, the company famous for its stellar line of industry-standard shotgun microphones, is releasing the MKE 200 ultracompact, on-camera mic for run-and-gun videographers, podcasters, and mobile journalists.
Lightweight with a sleek and stylish finish, the MKE 200 microphone mounts directly to DSLR and mirrorless cameras or to smartphones (with a phone clamp available separately) and yields a radically improved sound compared to the built-in mics on these devices.
The microphone features a supercardioid capsule with a directional pickup pattern that’s ideal for capturing speech and dialog with plenty of presence, even in noisy environments. Integrated wind protection and an internal suspension mount minimize handling noise and vibrations when you’re moving with your camera.
The MKE 200 is plug-and-play. It is powered by your camera and does not require batteries to operate.
Sennheiser ships the mic with a set of interchangeable TRS and TRRS coiled cables for connectivity to the 3.5mm audio jack on cameras or to the headphone jack on iOS/Android smartphones. A furry windshield is provided for outdoor shoots. You can keep all your equipment safe and tidy with the included carrying pouch.
If you’re a DSLR/mirrorless- or smartphone-based shooter and looking for quality audio on the go, come by our SuperStore or visit us online today and check out the new Sennheiser MKE 200.

I'm going to be recording amateur choir members for both stand-alone and virtual choir apps this fall: this little one sounds perfect for my iphone10.
