Live streamers, rejoice—Logitech has announced the Mevo Core, a Micro Four Thirds camera that allows you to wirelessly stream from anywhere, anytime. With a built-in battery that provides up to 6 hours of runtime, the Core will give users the ability to either record up to 4K video or broadcast at 1080p to a variety of streaming services such as YouTube, Twitch, and many more.

Lens Interchangeability

With the all-new Micro Four Thirds (MFT) sensor, the Mevo Core isn’t optically locked off and can work with a wide and diverse range of MFT-mountable lenses. This brings an entirely new level of creative and stylistic control for live streamers. From switching between fisheye and telephoto lenses to capturing glimmering bokeh, there is certainly an exponential jump in the degree of compositional freedom that the Core offers when compared to its popular predecessor, the Mevo Start. Like the Start, the Core will be able to simultaneously live stream alongside multiple Mevo Cameras and, thanks to the Core’s lens interchangeability, users of the Mevo ecosystem will be able to cut seamlessly between multiple focal lengths all during an individual stream.

While the Mevo Core will be readily available for purchase as a body, bundled packages will also be offered to help you hit the ground running. This will include kits with your choice of the Olympus 14-42mm EZ, the Panasonic 14-42mm PZ, or the Panasonic 45-175mm PZ; these zoom lenses, in particular, were chosen due to their powered/electronic zoom designs, which can be controlled from the Mevo Multicam app.

Wireless Freedom

While the Mevo Core checks all the boxes that streamers crave—such as built-in NDI/SRT support, fully wireless streaming, Wi-Fi 6E compatibility, and more—its ability to act as a standalone video camera is an exciting and welcomed feature. The camera’s maximum resolution caps out at 1080p for streaming but receives a welcome bump up to 4K30p when recording video. The Core will feature several handy video features such as an ISO range of 100-25600, a 3-mic array system with external mic compatibility, spatial audio processing for speech and music, tally lights, and four 1/4"-20 mounts, with one on each side.

Mevo Control

All the primary functions of the camera have been integrated into the Mevo Multicam app (available in the Apple App Store or from Google Play), where you’ll be able to seamlessly switch from camera to camera just by tapping your screen. The Multicam app gives you access to a wide range of creative tools, such as the Auto-director, which will dynamically and automatically switch between camera feeds, the audio mixer, which gives you tactile and responsive controls over each camera's onboard audio, and the graphics panel, which makes adding professional on-screen graphics an absolute breeze.

Stream In Style

The Core maintains the pragmatic workflow and control that users of the Mevo ecosystem have grown to love, all while providing an enhanced level of compositional and visual control thanks to the inclusion of the MFT sensor and lens mount. With so many MFT lenses readily available, the sky's the limit when it comes to framing your live streams. How will you put the all new Mevo Core to use and what lenses would be your go-to?
