The Mopho x4 44-Key Polyphonic Analog Synthesizer from Dave Smith Instruments is a 4-voice polyphonic analog synthesizer with 44 semi-weighted, velocity sensitive keys with aftertouch. Each voice is powered by 2 oscillators that offer a selection between sawtooth, triangle, saw/triangle, and variable pulse width square wave waveforms. In additional to dual oscillators, each voice also has two sub-octave generators designed for creating sub-bass tones. You can alter and shape the voices through their Curtis low-pass filter, 4 LFOs, and 3 envelope generators.
Further sonic sculpting can be done through the voice-independent 16x4 gated step sequencer and arpeggiator. The Mopho x4 offers a variety of connectivity, including a 5-pin DIN MIDI input, output/thru, and poly chain connection that allows you to connect the Mopho x4 to a Mopho, Tetra, or Prophet '08 synth for an increased voice count. While it features a variety of knobs for hands-on control, the free downloadable software editor for Mac and PC allows you to use your computer to edit sounds on the Mopho x4 via its USB port.
The x4's full-sized, 44-note semi-weighted keyboard has aftertouch and velocity sensitivity. The full-sized pitch and mod wheels are freely assignable
