Sony SVD13225PX Overview

The carbon white VAIO Duo 13 SVD13225PXW 13.3" Multi-Touch Convertible Ultrabook Computer from Sony features a unique surf slider design that allows you to transition between tablet and laptop modes with ease. The VAIO Duo 13 provides the benefits of both a tablet and an Ultrabook computer in one unique package.

The 13.3" capacitive touchscreen supports 10-point touch input as well as digitizer input, which is why Sony included a digitizer pen with the VAIO Duo 13. The screen features LED backlight technology, IPS (in-plane switching) technology and Sony's Triluminos technology, which provides natural shades of color, a wider color range and a heightened sense of depth. The display has a 16:9 aspect ratio and a Full HD 1920 x 1080 native resolution, which is supported by integrated Intel HD Graphics 4400.

The system is powered by a dual-core Haswell 1.8GHz Intel Core i7-4500U processor. It also has 8GB of 1600MHz LPDDR3 RAM, a 256GB solid state drive, a 2-in-1 media card reader, 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0+HS, near field communication (NFC), an integrated webcam and microphone.

Windows 8.1 Pro (64-bit) improves the user experience of Windows 8 with several additions and changes. Windows 8.1 Pro rolls out the Start button (although its functionality differs from its predecessor) and you will also be able to boot directly to the traditional desktop screen instead of the Windows 8 Start Screen. Windows 8.1 Pro introduces a redesigned Start screen with tiles that update in real-time. Windows 8.1 Pro also focuses on cloud storage as well as offers various apps through the Windows Store. Windows 8.1 Pro also focuses on data security. BitLocker drive encryption helps protect corporate data. SmartScreen services help protect you from malicious sites and software on the Internet. Windows 8.1 Pro provides a unique user experience that differs from previous versions of Windows.

VAIO Duo 13
Dual-Core Haswell Intel Core i7 Performance
The VAIO Duo 13 houses a 4th generation Haswell Intel Core i7-4500U processor. Its dual cores can reach a stock speed of 1.8GHz. The processor can also be overclocked up to 3.0GHz, thanks to Intel Turbo Boost 2.0 technology. With a dedicated 4MB L3 cache, 8GB of 1600MHz LPDDR3 RAM and Intel Hyper-Threading technology, you'll be able to multitask quickly and efficiently. The low-voltage Haswell processor also makes it possible for the VAIO Duo 13 to squeeze 10 hours out of a single charge (battery life may vary depending on usage)
13.3" Capacitive Touchscreen
The 13.3" capacitive touchscreen features LED backlighting and 10-point touch input support. The screen also features IPS (in-plane switching) technology, which provides up to a wide 178° viewing angle. The touchscreen also utilizes Sony's Triluminos Display, which creates natural shades of color and provides a wider color range. The display is made of tough, scratch-resistant glass, which is vital to a touchscreen using touch and stylus input. The screen also has a 16:9 aspect ratio and features a Full HD 1920 x 1080 native resolution, so you'll be able to watch 1080p HD videos without having to upscale the content
Surf Slider Design
The unique Surf Slider design allows you to transition between tablet and laptop modes. Interact with the tablet by using the stylus or your fingers on the 10-point capacitive touchscreen. When you need the feel of tactile keys, simply slide the screen back to reveal the keyboard
Digitizer Stylus
The included digitizer stylus delivers precise performance allowing you to write, draw and tap the touchscreen with ease. With every stroke, the digitizer stylus allows you to adjust line weight, brush size and more by pressing harder or softer with the pen. When the pen is near the screen, the touch sensors are turned off so you can maintain a comfortable writing position, even laying your palm on the screen. Two pen tips are included, allowing you to simulate working with a variety of traditional art and design materials
ArtRage Studio Pro Software
ArtRage Studio Pro contains all the tools of ArtRage Studio, such as oils, watercolors and inking pens which allow you to produce natural looking artwork on your computer. The version on the VAIO Duo 13 is ideal for artists who need to edit their work in more depth, supporting Photoshop compatible filters, real world color blending, post-spray editable stickers and more
Note Anytime for VAIO
Note Anytime for VAIO helps you easily take notes using the digitizer stylus or keyboard. This note taking and organizational tool will not only convert your handwriting to text, but also lets you add your own creative touch by drawing on the touchscreen with your finger or stylus so you can include hand drawn diagrams or images. You can organize your notes by specific subject or project and add images that you clip from the web using Active Clip or directly from your albums
Active Clip
