The small MoGoPod MK III Monopod is a unique monopod that has an internal steel belt drive system which makes it easy to extend from 20" to 41". MOGOPOD MK III Overview

The small MoGoPod MK III Monopod is a unique monopod that has an internal steel belt drive system which makes it easy to extend from 20" to 41". There is only one twist lock which makes setup very fast. It can also be used as an extension pole by removing the rubber foot to reveal a 1/4"-20 threaded mount for attaching a GoPro or similar camera.

On-Pole Tripod Mount
A female 1/4"-20 threaded mount is located on the grip, allowing you to mount the MoGoPod on another support, or add accessories onto the monopod.
Numbered Markings
Markings on the monopod allow you to adjust the length to a predetermined length.

Excellent product and materials

Replacing my Manfrotto 561BHDV-1

Using this for my DSLR 5DMK2 Setup. So far it can hold my Metal cage, shotgun mic, 312 led light, and Manfrotto fluid head. Also using MOGOPOD TPD-2 Tripod Leg Stand. Can stand and hold my camera rig straight up when tighten at the buttom (best feature for this setup) Con: Slight movement when tighten but still hold camera well. Also Legs can unfold to easily.

Can you use an existing mini tripod to mount the bottom of this monopod to enable chicken legs?

No you cannot. The only option for a stand for this monopod are the Mogopod TPD 2 tripod leg stand. The end of the monopod features a male-thread which is why it cannot be connected to other 3rd party mini tripods.
