The DS-1 Bi-Directional Arca-Type QR Plate from Desmond is a square Arca-type compatible quick-release plate. It is designed for compact cameras, and has dovetails on all four sides, allowing you to mount the camera in any direction in your clamp. Rubber grips on the top of the plate help reduce camera-twist. The included 1/4"-20 mounting screw can be tightened with a hex key, or by hand with the D-ring.

Even after years of camera work I was ignorant of the Arca-Swiss plate system. I am switching over and it's great to have a fast secure way to swap things around. The Desmond gear is good quality.
Several gimbals mount the camera sideways rather than front/back. While this isn't an issue per se, it's incredibly inconvenient that those gimgals such as the DJI RSC2 come with a rectangular Arca-Swiss mounting plate, since you need to attach the plate sideways rather than front/back. This means that any time you want to mount your camera to a tripod or other device, you need to turn the quick release plate 90 degrees. This Bi-Directional plate SOLVES this problem! No need to ever turn your plate. It baffles me that companies such as DJI don't include a plate like this by default.
