Given the wave of LED, which is very good, learning with a fresnel like the Arri 650 with excellent bulbs will offer the user a better understanding of CRI, understanding color with filters, exposure calculation, and its importance in understanding light dissipation. It's been years now that I've been working purely with tungsten Fresnels, and despite all the cons that are found today, I've never had better skin tones, even in sensors inferior to those of Alexa cameras.
