On the outside, one probably sees the DVM-12CLD Cleaning Cassette by Sony as a simple accessory. "Oh yeah, ya gotta clean your heads every now and then". I don't have to explain the importance of that "little accessory" to a video professional. I am a wedding videographer. If the heads get dirty, I cannot ask the bride and groom to repeat the ceremony, or the cake cutting. Lo and behold, my cleaning cassette disappeared....and I had a wedding that day. Dare I risk the "Cleaning Cassette" message in my viewfinder....which usually is followed by an unintelligable image? Well, I had to find retailer fast. NO ONE carries a cleaning cassette for miniDV...except the unmentionable chain. I went to this chain in desperation and discovered a cleaning cassette that was cheap and flimsy...utilizing brushes that sweep back and forth. THANK GOD I didn't need it. I returned it and ordered the Sony, which by the way, was CHEAPER than the unmentionable shack! The DVM-12CLD Cleaning Cassette by Sony has never let me down, and it won't let you down. Just don't lose it.

Like a dummy I left a tape in my DVX-100A, during the hottest week in New York!!! When I tried to use the camera again it was chewing up tapes. I was afraid I was going to need the camera repaired. I went an purchased the head cleaner and it fixed the problem pronto! Whew!!!

CANT GO WRONG I ONLY USE SONY PREMIUMS IN MY VX1000 SO I USE A CAPTURE CAMERA TO SAVE THE HEADS ON THAT SO I USE THE HEAD CLEANER TO MAKE SURE THE FOOTAGE STAYS CLEAN.

I was noticing major timecode breaks while importing into my computer from my camera. i ran the head cleaner, still got the breaks but they seemed to be less. I guess the cleaner helped out a bit.

I bought this cleaner because I was seeing gray stripes across the recording. I had read of other people having this problem and a cleaning would correct it. I was skeptical, but tried it anyway. Ran the tape for 10 seconds and tried the tape again. All was good. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is having problems playing back recordings on their video recording.

Followed the simple instructions and very quickly the heads on my camera were once again clean and working properly.
I like the idea that the cleaning tape does not loop on itself, and therefore even when you can't remember how many times you've used it, you know when it is time to throw it away and purchase another one. Price is not an issue, but the cleanliness of my camera is.

My Sony DCR-HC42 NTSC Handycam had thick horizontal bars across the screen when recording and playback. Do not try other cleaning tape products for this problem. Get the Sony recommended product. It worked perfectly for me.
