The Leica Macro-Adapter-M is placed between the camera and M-mount lens to increase the lens-to-sensor distance and achieve maximum reproduction ratios up to 1:2 for close-up shooting. Its design incorporates a helical screw system, which can be used to vary the adapter's extension length between 0.7-1.2" for greater flexibility in setting a closer focusing distance than the lens natively allows as well as increasing the reproduction ratio. The adapter is designed for use on Leica cameras featuring a live view function (such as the M Typ 240) and lenses with focal lengths greater than 28mm.
- For Leica M-Mount Lenses
- Enables Max. Reproduction Ratio of 1:2
- Shortens Minimum Focusing Distance

Leica 14652 Reviews
Excellent accesory.
This extending attachment designed for the Leica M cameras provided with Live View is a MUST; if you use with the Leica Macro-Elmar-M 90mm/f4, it's a perfect combination for detailed photography.
Opens New World for Old Lenses
I'm currently using Leica M and Voigtlander lenses, via a Fujifilm M adapter, with a Fujifilm X Pro2 camera. My closest focusing lens is a Leica 50 mm f/2 but that still leaves me too far away for flower details and other things I used to capture using a true macro lens with another system during my early film days. So when this macro adapter went on sale I took the plunge, in spite of its still steep price. My old Leica 90 mm f/2.8 lens now produces large sharp images at a descent working distance, the 50 mm larger ones at a closer distance, but the 35 mm working distance is a bit too short for me. Of course, stopping the aperture down helps improve the limited depth of field and a steady hand or tripod is needed. The macro adapter comes with caps for both ends, takes up little room in my compact camera bag and so will be a permanent fixture there. The fit with my camera (in my case the M adapter) is snug, but attaching the lenses requires more twisting effort than I feel is acceptable to fully engage the lens latch, and there is no reassuring click at the end either; so I feel the need to back turn the lens to make sure it is locked. I'm hoping it will ease with time, or I might get brave and try some instrument lubricant. That's the only negative (aside from price) I have and the reason for the one star reduction. Otherwise I'm very pleased with the possibility of doing closeup (if not true macro) photography with my same high quality lenses that have served me well in the macro world.
