The PocketWizard MiniPhone Adapter works perfectly with older flashes that have a PC sync cable connection. Instead of relying on an optical slave and direct line of sight to fire the flash, the adapter allows you to use a PocketWizard to trigger the flash from areas that the optical slave will not work. I use two of them (adapters) on old Vivitar flashes and they get the job done very nicely.

Specs says mini phone female, but picture shows male, is it female or male? And is it 2.5 or 3.5?

The PocketWizard MPCF-L PC Sync to Miniphone Adapter has a male 3.5mm (1/8) connection. And the other side is a PC female connection.
