The BC-1000 Alpha Battery Charger Kit from La Crosse Technology includes four AA and four AAA NiMH batteries as well as four C size and four D size battery adapters. It accepts both NiCd and NiMH batteries and can charge AA and AAA sizes simultaneously. All modes default to a 200mA charge, and the charger automatically switches to a trickle charge when charging is complete to ensure maximum capacity. The BC-1000 allows you to choose the charging current individually for each channel.
An LCD screen on the charger shows the percentage of capacity charged for each battery, and overcharge protection helps to protect battery life. The charger has four modes to give you the most out of your batteries. Charge Mode is simply for charging, and displays the voltage and percentage charged. You can choose between 200, 500, 700 or 100mA charging currents. When only channel one and/or channel four is being used, you can select 1500 or 1800 mA. Discharge Mode reduces memory effect by discharging the batteries completely and then fully charging them at your selected mA charging current. Refresh Mode discharges and charges the batteries at your selected charging current for 20 cycles or until the batteries are refreshed to max capacity. Test Mode charges to full capacity, discharges completely to measure capacity, and then recharges to full capacity. Terminal voltage is displayed in all operating modes. If a defective battery is detected, the unit will not charge the battery. An AC wall adapter and a nylon travel bag are included in addition to the batteries and battery adapters.
