Comments about B+W 37mm Screw-In Folding Rubber Lens Hood #900:
I bought this for use on an Olympus 14-40mm lens. When extended, it provides decent decent flair protection in sunlight. It also offers some extra lens protection against accidental bumps when wearing the camera around my neck.
It does vignette the corners of the image with the lens zoomed all the way back to 14mm, but this goes away with the lens at 18mm and beyond. This is due to the hood's mounting ring, which sits on top of my UV filter. If I remove the filter (which I choose not to do) the vignetting goes away. This is typical of other rubber hoods I've used on other lenses and is a negligible inconvenience, since I can easily remove the hood.

This collapsible lens hood stays on the camera lens, does not have to be flipped when not in use and is totally trouble-free.

This is a great idea. A lens good you can keep on the camera and it stays out of the way. Sometimes I don't even pack my stock lens hoods, but then I don't have them when I need them. No problem keeping this on on the lens!

The folding rubber lens hood is a great addition to any camera or camcorder bag. This item works great at keeping the sun out of my camcorder's lens. Storage in the camcorder bag is easy since the hood takes up so little space because of the folding feature. Definitely worth having.

Small and compact when folded. The rubber hold up in the cold. I use it on a video camera I leave outside for an hour at a time in the winter, keeps the snow off the lens.

This lens hood is awesome. I use it with an HF11. It has a very cool design where is folds back if you need fit the camera in a tight bag. I use it on top of my UV filter and it does not add vignetting to the shot in video mode but in photo mode on highest resolution it does.

Comments about B+W 37mm Screw-In Folding Rubber Lens Hood #900:
It's rubber, it's simple, it makes the cam look cool. I think it will protect excess light from the sides entering the lens, as well as bumping into something, kind of like an orange construction cone. It won't stop it but it warns before you go any further and hit the actual camera. It also folds in so it makes the camera compact again. It won't work in camera mode as it disables the flash when screwed on, but I don't really use the camera function all that much.
