This tri-mount is made of quality aluminum and is very sturdy. It mounts to the accessory shoe of the camcorder very well and will enable you to mount 3 accessory items at once. The cost is very reasonable for what you get. The only draw back (and this seems to be the #1 complaint) is that the 3 mounts are just a bit thick for most of your accessories. As most videographers go, we are an inovative and resourceful group and I'm sure you will find a way to make this work - as I did, but it is a little disappointing to have to modify new equipment to do what it is supposed to do out of the box. I use this mount mainly for event videography and gorilla filmmaking. I mount a light on top, a shotgun mic on the side and my lav receiver on the bottom mount. Works well and looks impressive, but then again you may have to file or modify this or your equipment to fit.

Used product with HDSLR today to record speaker/presentation. Support for shotgun with shock mount, Zoom H4n with shoe adaptor, and at times, ikan field monitor.
Perfect fit out of the box. No filing needed. Joints were firm and secure without extra effort but note, camera was quiet, with lots of lock frame.
This device was good for weight and balance as gear is kept tight on center line but with enough separation space. Plan to use with XHa1 camcorder as well.
I like a clean, lean, light rig that will get the job done. Battle tank appearance frightens some people at events. This mount does the job for me.

Allows me to mount monitor, wireless receiver and light on camera - when fully loaded, can be a bit top heavy, so tripod is best.

The mount is smaller than it looks which is good. I'm able to place my shot gun mic on the top shoe to keep it away from lens/tape motor noise. My light fits at the lower shoe. The side shoe will be for my future wireless mic. It's sturdy and you can be tempted to use it as a handle but would advise against in case the camera shoe is weak internally. It cost less than other products of this type. I may get more for my other cameras.

I use this mount with my HV30 to extend the use and accessories I need. This is a very strong durable mount.
The only con I could thing of would be the base attachment. It feels a little loose, be careful especially if you have heavy mic/accessories.

Using a small camera? Forget the Velcro, tape and whatever else you might think of. This is perfect for mounting a small LCD display(larger than the one built into your camera), light and wireless receiver.
For the money it is a great value!

I use this product on my Canon HV30. This mount includes a Rode SVM which gave me a good quality audio because I almost omitted the motor noise from the canon tape compartment.
The material on NRG mount could have been a bit improved but nonetheless its sturdy.

This bracket is probably the most dense, solid object I own. Besides its three cold shoe mounts, it is perfect for using as a camcorder handle (although I'd only use it this way when stationary, the NRG is incredibly solid itself but no matter how tight you tighten it, using it as a camcorder handle while waterskiing is definitely asking for trouble). This mount, as others have said, allows you to get a camera-mounted microphone far away from the camera motor, heavily reducing or possibly eliminating the noise you pick up from it. I use it with an HV30, largely to make it look... well, bigger.

It almost looks huge in the pictures - it is a lot smaller in person - and thank god....I was happy it was.
It is very strong - this wont break. Shaped oddly, but once you begin to work with it you see that it is calculated, and just right. The shoe mount fitting to the camera is a little tough to open/close - not easy to come off sometimes - and thats why I gave it an 9 out of 10 - but it is an otherwise perfect product that does exactly as proposed. Good price I think, very well made product. I almost want this made out of titanium - to make it super lightweight, too.

Good when two mics receivers and a light are used. Makes smaller cameras a bit top heavy, and be sure the side-attached unit is locked down, but a great way to get multiple peripherials on board at the same time.

This is a great adapter. The layout is fantastic; it's very solid and so lightweight. Ohhh… In case your confused it is a 3 way adapter, the photo shows the 3rd Hot Shoe at the top of the picture cropped out/missing ..trust me it's there in reality.
The adapter attaches fine to any camera.... But as it's been stated before… the flanges on all 3 hot shoes are to thick, it’s not a big job but you need to take to the outer edges with a file and trim off a bit to make them take most items, the devices simply won't slide in without a lot of force... As a tip, take your tightest fitting device and make it fit, don’t take off any more than you need to.
My guess is the design specification was to tight to start with...then add to that the very thick professional paint anodising and you have minor problem. It's a great adapter… Buy it !! Just remember once you've filed the outer edges it will be silver not black....
And the reason NRG haven't changed it ? It's my guess that it’s an expensive injection mould ... Tony, Brismedia

I got the tri-mount for use when shooting weddings and live events, I never had a place for all my microphones or lights, now I have a spot for all of them! I used it this last weekend with a shotgun mic on one mount, a wireless receiver on another and a portable light on the final spot towards the end of the shoot.
I had the tri-mount slip off of the shoe mount twice during the day while moving the camera at extreme angles, but I tightened it back up and kept checking to be sure it was tight and had no other problems. I'm a big fan and highly recommend this product for anyone owning more than one accessory with a shoe mount on it.

I was able to mount the lav receiver and a shotgun mic, but the hotshoe holder wasn't the right size for the camera light I have (Bescor MPL 645) The light's mount is too thick to slide into the Tri-Mount. So I ended up taping it on, which works okay, but decreases my ability to take it on and off. I think this is more a problem with the Bescor than the Tri-Mount.

I was pleased to be presented with this solution by Grant at B&H. I have a Canon HV20 that I needed to mount a Litepanels Micro light, Sennheiser UHF receiver and a Rode NTG2 on and still try and keep the center of gravity from tilting left or right. Because the shoe is square I was able to orient all the items in a way that kept the light out front, the shotgun mike up top and the receiver vertical and to the rear, and all for about [$]. Thanks Grant and B&H! The next best solution was a Bracket1 at almost 4 times the price and it would have been cumbersome.

Every part of this bracket is metal; it's built like a tank. I use it with a Canon HV30 to get the external mic away from the motor. Works great. I mount a light on one of the other shoes (there are 3). It is not a small bracket; the upper arm is about 6" long/high. Not a negative for me (I wanted a larger bracket) but something to keep in mind. Excellent bracket.

Simple and very effective for mounting a light and external mic without having to worry about losing versatility. If you don't have a handle on your camera, it can also be used as a handle to catch those low shots near the ground.

The most perfect tool to place a camera light plus two wireless receivers (i use sennheisers) Its design does not make the camera unstable.
I've used one for 4 years and just purchased my second one.

This bracket mounts on top the camera in its shoe and adds three other shoes. I put the shotgun mic in one shoe and a micro-LED light which is 4"x3"x1.5" and fits perfectly in the bracket. The dimming works very smoothly.
