Always need the hood

Sometimes, in a perfectly sheltered spot, the hood makes no difference. The rest the time, there's stray light that weakens the contrast. This hood fits well on the lens and stays put. The whole assembly fits fine in the camera bag. The side-light that's great on the subject is not so great on the camera. Nice not to have to hold up a hand to shade the lens!

No, that lens hood is not compatible with the Fujifilm 18mm f/2.0 XF R Lens.If you want the one that it came with you need to contact Fujifilm direct.The Sensei PRO 52mm Wide Angle Aluminum Lens Hood B&H # SELHMW52 MFR # LHM-W52 should work. It is a non dedicated lens hood that screws into the lenses filter threads.
