Designed with a waterproof housing and an innovative switching system, the powell blue Black Diamond Spot Headlamp provides up to 200 lumens of light. The PowerTap technology at the heart of this light lets you go from dim to full power and back again with the simple tap of a finger on the right side of the touch-sensitive housing. The first touch activates Proximity mode, which provides light for up-close tasks. Continued pressure turns on Distance mode, which utilizes a higher output LED for greater beam throw.
Output is continually variable, transitioning from the minimum output all the way to 200 lumens. A red LED provides both proximity and strobe settings without affecting night-adjusted vision. A switch-lockout feature means you won't open your bag and find your light on with a partially depleted battery. A three-level power meter shows remaining battery life for three seconds after switching on the headlamp so you will always know how much juice you have left in the three AAA batteries. The housing is IPX8-rated, so it will withstand immersions down to a depth of 3.3' for up to a half hour. An adjustable headband ensures it stays on your head, even during strenuous activities.
