I use the product to record a microphone into my computer also using a 1/4" adapter. I also use this product to plug a microphone into a distortion box which sounds really cool. It is simple and it works.

Works as advertised. I use this with a simple 8 channel mixing board and older 1/4 inch headphone/microphone so that I can run XLR cable and place the board a good distance from the play by play for live event coverage.
