These are amazing for the money. They are so clear, and so comfortable that I can wear these for HOURS at a time and not get any fatigue.I love how they fold and fit into a leather pouch so if I'm going somewhere I can fit them in my bag and plug them into my iPod when I'm on the go.You will NOT find a better pair for the money! These are THE headphones to get and for [$] and some change, these are a STEAL! I paid $130 for mine back in '97. They have dropped considerably in price, and there IS NO competition. You'd be CRAZY to go elsewhere for headphones if your on a budget!

It's difficult for me to rate the performance of these earphones because they were so uncomfortable. They are clearly not for women like me, but only for men with big heads, since even when set on the smallest size, the earphones both covered my ears and part of my jaw. Moreover, they were so tight that they pushed against my jaw making the listening experience unpleasant. The headband that rests on the top of the head was also quite heavy. I even tried to wear them upside down, with the band that usually goes over the head under my chin, but the earphones are so heavy that they slipped down.

We needed them for a computer based program that deals with hearing the tones, so they needed to be noise stifling without the noise canceling feature. They work great! nice and quit and great sound!

Comments about Sony MDR-V600 Headphone:
These are fantastic headphones for the money. Anyone who complains and then compares them to $500 headphones or $2000 speakers is missing the point. I have had them for about 10-15 years and yes I replaced the earpads once. So what. They are available. They are comfortable, though I preferred my AKG K240s for comfort and sound, but they were a semi open design and did not block out ambient noise. These are great in noisy environments, like airplanes. And yes they are large. That's why they work. Earbuds are not headphones, but they are a sure way to destroy your hearing. These are a good balance between performance and cost. They are a great value. That's why they get 5 stars. Are there better headphones? Of course. But be prepared to pay .

i would rate these a 5 star..they have great sound quality..the down fall are the ear cussions. after 1 year on heavy wear they started to deteriorate. if your going to be using these heavily on long hrs i recommend buying something different or jus get extra pads.

Sony makes a great product for the price!
I bought this set 10 years ago and only because of wear & tear they're starting to loose that crispy sound, especially on the back end. But they still work great and I payed twice as much back then. I'll be passing these down to someone that needs a pair. I'm just glad there still making this particular model and if anyone complains about the sound quality verses price, tell them to either get there ears checked or break out the checkbook!

Great headphones in terms of response and quality, but a little to bulky for my style. These are really larger size headphones, but they do cover the ears, even if you have really big ears!

My husband and I ordered the Sony MDR-V600 Headphones to use while listening to special audio programs with frequencies that are out of range with our previous headphones. We're both finding these great and can hear tones that we didn't even know were there before - especially in the lower range!

Comments about Sony MDR-V600 Headphone:
I recently bought an ipod touch 4th generation, and though I have a good set of earbuds, I wanted a good set of headphones for comfort and great sound. So, the research began. I tried those new fashion phones that cost $299 to $399, but wasn't impressed. Maybe,if I was 16 and in high school, and daddy was paying. So, not being able to listen to all those I was considering, my criteria became brand, price, specs, and what other owners said. The V600 has been around for awhile and earlier reviews were not so good, but this was Sony, and any failings, I was sure would be corrected. Now, why I love these phones. Comfort, absolutely, sound leakage, I doubt it. And, I hardly hear anything from outside. These phones will absolutely reproduce music, that I'm sure is what the sound engineer intended. I still can't believe the sounds I hear on the recordings, which I never heard before. Sounds are clear and crisp with the high notes, and the bass,OMG, the bass is heavenly. And, if that's not enough, at this price, WOW!!!

Comments about Sony MDR-V600 Headphone:
I purchased these headphones to both listen to music through my ipod, and to use for guitar practice through my Peavey Amp Kit setup.
The first thing I noticed when listening is the bass presence. Although not to overwhelming it is definitely exaggerated from a flat frequency response. Upon further listening it appeared a little boomy, and not as tight I'd like. The mids also seemed a rough. Listening to lead guitar on some of my favorite tracks seemed very harsh and cold without the warmth and presence that I have been used to with those same tracks on other sound systems. The highs, however, are crisp clear - no complaints.
The overall result is that when listening to relaxation music, where the bass isn't articulated as much, without much mids and where highs are the emphasis, it sounds great. When listening to alternative, metal, grunge etc where you need the mids and well defined bass, it sounds muddy and unarticulated.
The headphones are comfortable, block out ambient noise, come with a carry case which they fold down nicely into. They feature an 1/8in jack and come with the adapter for 1/4in. The cord has a coiled section to it which allows it to be effective at multiple lengths. It attaches to just the left can, which is nice.
Overall a good looking, comforatable, portable headphone set with just mediocure sound.

Comments about Sony MDR-V600 Headphone:
I got these based on the recommendation of a friend and have had a pair of these headphones for about 5 years now. I probably use then 2-4 days a week for ~6 hours. Just bought a second pair for my wife.
I use these headphones with my computer to listen to music and movies at home and at work. They sound quality is much better than the on-ear style and ear buds, but I'm no audiophile. They block ambient noise much better. I frequently have people tap me on the head because I couldn't hear them talk with these over my ears even when the volume is low. I also find that they are much more comfortable than other style head phones.
While they seem a bit pricey to me, I think the improvement in comfort and quality compared to on ear and ear buds are well worth it.

These headphones are connected to my PC and they work great. They are super comfortable and the cord-length is perfect for me (with a nice thick cord). The sound is better than I expected but it is a tad bright at times. Overall, great sound, great comfort, at a good price.

i used to use the mdv-7506 and the wire that is exposed would break. 2 or 3 pairs a year at a much higher price. these are great in the field, durable, reasonable outside sound close off, and good price.
