I was on a notification list for this item for literally half a year and every time it was back in stock it would sell out immediately until recently when I was so lucky to be able to snatch one. It's hard to get a stand like this one. It arrived pretty quick.

So far I have only great things to say about this stand. I have an M-Audio Hammer 88 weighted keyboard on the lower tier, and an NI Komplete Kontrol 49 on top. Works great!!!

Is it possible to adjust the heights on 1st tier ?

Only using the main adjustment in the middle. This will affect the entire stand also making it wider or narrower as height is adjusted.

Is the second tier removable or a permanent fixture ?

Second tier is removable, but I wouldn't suggest doing so. It is very easy to loosen clamps and fold down. I suggest buying a second stand that is smaller and lighter if you only want to use it as a single x style stand tier. This is a great stand and is sturdy for my application. I created a custom shelf to rest on the second tier and it works great.
