Good quality material, comes in plastic case to protect. Easy enough to open and collapse. I worry that the materal will get dirty but thats not the products fault.
Will come in handy for portraits

It's great. It's compact and the results look professional. It is a bit difficult to fold it at first (the video demonstration on the Westcott website is definitely not the greatest). The white side could be whiter - it is sheer so the black on the other side shows through. There were some white markings on the black side that wouldn't come off - 1 star off for that.

We have an assortment of collapsible backdrops, never wanted to pay for white/black, drug out papers rolls, double stands, crosspole when needed. So glad I'm done with that, at least for headshots. Also, I would say this is not muslin, happy that it's not. Material is similar to other Westcott two sided collapsibles, some stretch to it. Wrinkles are minimal.

The background is perfect for small areas. I use it for portraiture in a small studio set-up. It is easy to store and does a great job .

I shoot a lot of portraits using either a white or black seamless or muslin backdrop in the studio. (These portraits are used by our graphic designers for specific publications.) This reversible backdrop makes it a lot easier to shoot on location. It's much more portable and easier to set up than a 9-foot seamless, and it's large enough for individual head-and-shoulders photos without feeling too cramped. The background folds into a small package for easy transport. It can be suspended from a single light stand with an A-clamp.

The white side is very smooth and even, and I can adjust the final tone by how I light it. The black side is a matte finish and so it eats up light pretty well, thus staying black. Still, you have to be careful to flag your lights if you want the background to be completely black in the final image.

I have another version of this backdrop with a painted neutral gray fabric, and have been using it for several years, so I expect this will last a while.

Re-folding the background takes some practice, so make sure you do so before letting a client see you try. Also, because it has two layers of fabric, it's heavier than I expected -- this means it won't stand up by itself, but needs to be hung from a light stand.

Perfect black. Material quality is amazing. Easy to handle. Having considered competing products, I am glad I chose this even though it is $$$. This one will last for a long time. Worth the money. Did the first corporate shoot with this background and couldn't be more happier. Go for it.

This is nearly wrinkle-free. The black side has so far provided a dense and nondescript darkness for one portrait session. It makes a tough, tight fit to get into the clips of my Lastolite backdrop stand; I wonder how it might have fitted Westcott's own brandname stand. The fabric is very soft and at all like the plasticized surface of my EZYBalance card, so I wonder if it will be hard to get clean when the time comes. But perhaps this is the better surface anyway. For the price the carrying case could have been better -- I really can foresee that giving out within a year or so.

This is the third such collapsible double sided Wescott background I own and they're all well worth the money.
Easy to set up and use. It can be hung on a stand or propped up against something else. The Black side stays very dark without having to use a gobo and the White side is adequately light.
It's big enough to use with one or two people for headshots or maybe for video shoots.
Very well constructed. One caution: Learn to fold it according to the supplied instructions and you'll never have a problem with it.

This thing is huge and when collapsed it is still pretty big. Comes in a cheap plastic case which is why I gave it only 4 stars. For such an expensive item I would have appreciated a nicer carry case. Still, it is good quality and a great tool to have.

This is a great product! Since backgrounds have been a problem for me, I ordered this product to upgrade my pictures. It is just great to set up, and fast! My only complaint would be the struggle that I have to get it into the shape to put back in the bag to store.

This is a great addition to a photographer who does head and shoulder portraits on location. It will accommodate individuals or small groups. Products or other still life can also be shot with this backdrop.
