I use this rather than carry my Domke bag and it works great. There's room for the gear I need plus all the misc. stuff I carry. Good construction, comfortable, easy accessability.

The Photogs Vest eliminates the need to carry a camera bag. It fits square unlike a bag. It has 15 pockets to carry everything from long lenses to filters. There are waterproof pockets for electronics.

Comments about Domke Photogs Vest (X-Large, Khaki):
This is a very good vest for birding and bird photography I am able to carry along different lenses and bird guide book and many other items necessary for a day of birding. I used it for the first time on a 10 day trip to San Diego area and it was very comfortable and cool even in the 82 degree sunny weather. Well worth the price.

Comments about Domke Photogs Vest (X-Large, Khaki):
I bought this vest to go out birding in the state parks around here. Needed lots of pockets for all the camera gadgets, papers, maps and snacks, and I am very satisfied that this vest fits the bill. I can even store my rather large binocs in a vest pocket when I'm tired of having them around my neck. With so many pockets, you want to be careful not to stuff too many at one time; that could get unwieldy. Still, it's great to have so many storage options. The material is beautiful, sturdy, and "breathes" enough for my purposes (I'm in upstate NY, not the tropics!) All in all, I'm VERY happy with the product and the price point.

Comments about Domke Photogs Vest (X-Large, Khaki):
I purchased this to replace a small Tamrac backpack that I had grown out of. I use it for landscape photography - it allows me to carry two lenses (plus one on the camera body) filters, memory card wallet, shutter release, tickets, IDs, passes, small lunch or snacks, and I still have pockets left over. I bought it a size too large to fit over a coat - and will probably buy another for summer time in the desert. It distributes the weight of all the goodies well, and access to the goodies is pretty easy too, even one handed. Despite being a well ventilated vest. color is too dark and fabric is too heavy for summer in Arizona. Knew that when I chose it.

I went to the zoo and did not have to run back to the car once to get a filter, etc. It is nice to have a comfortable way to carry extra lenses, filters, memory cards, etc. The pockets are lined in a way to not harm filters or lenses.

Comments about Domke Photogs Vest (X-Large, Khaki):
Took the vest out of the box and on a weeklong shoot in Glacier National Park. This vest has numerous pockets, allowing for immediate access to filters, lenses and accessories without the hassle of constantly going back to the backpack. The pockets are lined to avoid accumulation of lint on filters and lenses stored there. I also used the vest as a "travel vest" on board the plane on the way home. Its capacious inside pockets even have room to hold a 15" laptop while boarding the plane. I am tall, 6'5", and found the length to be an advantage. Several of the others on our trip were anxious to get one of these upon their return home, due to my glowing recommendations.

Comments about Domke Photogs Vest (X-Large, Khaki):
Domke knows how to design a photo vest for the "off-road" professional photographer. The quality is the same as much more expensive vests. All cotton means that the garment can breathe, though it should be waterproofed before taking it into hot or humid climates. The pockets are well laid out. I can carry all the medium format equipment I need for a day's shoot off in the boonies - no need for a backpack or (heaven help you) a shoulder bag. A backpack might be required if you were to be carrying any overly large lenses, tripods, etc., but otherwise, the Domke vest alone will do it for you (a piece of cake for those using 35mm gear).

Very well made and has lots of pockets of varying sizes and is well ventilated. Could have more padding in pockets, but otherwise a good buy.

Comments about Domke Photogs Vest (X-Large, Khaki):
I recently had an assignment that required me to follow a very active group of six people and the vest allowed me to carry all the gear I needed. I was unencumbered by a packpack. Lenses fit into the large side pockets and there was enough room for extra batteries memory cards and my flash. The only problem I encounered was it did not repel the rain very well and as a result it got kind of heavey but the gear stayed dry. Thumbs up for photogs on the go.

It's great you don't always have to carry your bag, and you distribute the weight to make it much more comfotable.
