I love this backpack. It has a million different pockets, which lets me organize my stuff, and my camera and lenses are easily accessible. I carry around a lot of things, but the weight distribution is awesome. It lets me bring along everything I want while providing excellent protection for my equipment.

Comments about Tamrac 5248 Adventure 8 Photo Backpack (Black):
I had a nearly similar Tamrac backpack that lasted over 10 years of constant use. These are great backpacks - not too heavy, with room for everything I need. I keep my Nikon D80, 2 lenses, 4 memory cards, a Nikon flash, a tabletop tripod and several cables always in the bag. There's plenty of room for my wallet, sunglasses and other accessories so I don't have to carry my purse and camera bag. Fantastic for traveling!

I've used this pack for 2 years. It has carried a lot of various equipment, D-200, various lenses, owner's manual (1 side pocket), battery charger(1 side pocket), filters, memory cards, etc. The top section worked great as a place to stash my flash unit. Very comfortable for hiking. Only drawback - needed more large section space for D-200 w/ lens.

Sweet pack! I am a photo hobbyist and it works perfectlyfor photo specific ventures. I use a Canon A620 and withadapters also use a zoom, wide and macro lenses. I can fitthe camera and the wide and zoom lenses in the maincompartment. My macro lens came with a hard case which Ikeep in an outer pocket. In the other outer pocket, I keepa small tool kit. In the large main pouch I keep awaterproof nylon jacket. There is plenty of room foraccessories like my 3 sets of extra batteries, flash cards, lens cleaning cloth, etc. Very comfortable with sternum andwaist straps.
Expertise: Hobbyist
Problems Encountered: My only problem is I wish they used quick release buckles onthe tripod mounting strap. It's a bit tough to cinch andun-cinch the tripod quickly.
Comments about Tamrac 5248 Adventure 8 Photo Backpack (Black):
Tamrac's Adventure 8 backpack is well suited for all sortsof day trips. The bag has a padded compartment for cameraequipment, a main compartment suitable for holding a varietyof goodies, and an assortment of smaller nooks andcompartments for holding the rest of your gear. The Tamrac website boasts that the padded compartment hasthe capability to hold a camera body, 3 lenses of varyingsize, and a flash. While this is essentially true (assumingone of your lenses is attached to your camera body),squeezing that much gear would be a tight fit. I generallycarry a camera body, a table-top tripod, and either 2 extralenses or a lens and the flash. The bag is small in size but large enough to handle a day'sworth of gear and goodies. And because it looks like abackpack, the bag passes through certain security checkswhere traditional camera bags may be red flagged.
