The Heliar lens is synonymous with the Voigtlander name. This lens has a 110 degree angle of view and is ideal for stunning landscape photography as well as situations requiring a wide angle lens such as tight interiors. A standard L-mount is used for this lens, making it compatible with Voigtlander Bessa R & L cameras as well as classic cameras from Leica and Canon with the venerable 39mm screwmount design. If you desire to use this lens with Leica M, Voigtlander Bessa T or Konica Hexar RF cameras, use the adapter ring (catalog number 45BD205A).

Comments about Voigtlander Super-Wide Heliar 15mm f/4.5 Aspherical Lens with Viewfinder:
The Voigtlander Heliar 15mm f/4.5 does the job of landscape photography and interior architectural photography well. My initial experiences at f8 to f22 show excellent sharpness andcontrast. There is some vignetting, but this is easily cured by programs like Light room. For the money, this lens is a good value. The one drawback is that there is no front screw mount for filters and no filter adapter. Focus with my Leicas is not an issue, as everything is in focus when you set the lens for the middle distance, stop down a bit, and blaze away.
Expertise: Semi-pro
Problems Encountered: This lens requires an adapter ring for use on Leica M mounts. The instructions for mounting the ring aren't that clear and the ring can come loose when you're in a hurry to remove the lens from the camera. Be a bit careful, think, and all will be well.
Previous Equivalent Item Owned: None. My widest was a 28mm Elmarit M.
Items I Recommend: Case for lens and aux. finder.
