I am a hobbyist who just stepped up to "L" series canon so I was looking for a comparable filter quality to not be limiting. This certainly seems to fit the bill. It is a little costly but when you are spending top dollar on lenses it only makes sense to spend good money and get excellent quality filters. Absolutely no complaints, my pictures are coming out more vibrant and I feel more comfortable with the extra protection on my expensive lens.

I use it for reducing/blocking reflections from window panes, framed glass at museum exhibitions, floors and tarmac which it all does incredibly well.

As I don't require it very often I bought the slim version for my Canon EF 24-70/2.8L so I could stack it on top my b+w UV filter for the few shots I need it and take it off again without having to completely switch filters. This works great until you go wider that ~28mm. Then the corners start to vignette.

The grip surface for mounting the filter onto the lens is barely wider than 1mm making it quite difficult to screw on tight, tight enough to keep it from unscrewing while adjusting the filter.

So if you work with a similar setup go the extra bucks and get the "EXTRA WIDE"version (Mfr # 66-016520) which also gives you more room to add thread adapters for use on other lens/thread combinations.

I bought this polarizer for use on the beach, so good build was an important consideration. I have several other B+W filters, never been disappointed. I don't mind the odd end-cap so much, since I mostly use the hood for protection and leave the cap off, but I'd liked to have a better solution.

Does everything it's supposed to and does it well. It's slim to avoid vignetting, yet easy to enough for me to put on and remove. With this comes a push on cap that as stated in other reviews is not as secure as a normal cap, but that's the trade off for a slim c.pol. If your lenses won't benefit from having a slim filter then just get the regular. It's multi-coated and it works just as well as any other coatings in this price range. I use this with 77, 72 and, 67mm lenses, so since I just needed one I pciked B+W for their quality and to last me a long time and numerous mountings. Most of my filters are Hoya (aluminum) and this B+W is brass which is another reason I picked it for quick mounting and removal, often my aluminum filters will stick together and become difficult to remove, but this filter always goes on easy, is quick to tighten down, and has always come right off without a filter wrench.

I love it.

B+W filters are worth every penny. They are expensive but perform very well and are designed to last. Putting a filter on expensive lenses is also a good way to protect them against dust as the flat surface of the filter is easier to clean than most lens front elements.
This slim version is best suited for wide lenses and does not have front threads.

This is a GREAT CPL for UWA lenses. I found at the time the Kaeseman was cheaper than the regular slim model. As always, sturdy construction and great optics (what I would expect from B+W).

The downside is the need for push-on lens caps (as will all slim filters). Keep an eye on the lens cap when you use it, make sure it doesn't fall off.

Great results with a glaring ocean and to see through the water. Quick enough to put on the lens.Plastic filter cover needs to be a tighter fit.

I use this very well build polarizer on multiple lenses (see below) and I am extremely pleased with the results. The filter is perfectly even (no optical variation across the image) and does not distort colors across the spectrum.

I used the filter to eliminate glare and reflections from a helicopter cabin while flying over Hawaii's vulcanos and was able to obtain great shots with no or minimal reflections while maintaining excellent natural colors.

I also successfully used it to reduce color cast and enhance natural colors when imaging Hawaii's extra green foliage under bright blue skies.

There are a few issues with the slim filter:
1) the provided lens cap falls off easy, and it's that soft that external pressure pushes it onto the filter and can cause smears (carry a microfiber cloth with you!)
2) due to the slim construction, it can be difficult to remove the filter from another filter since there is very little space to hold onto. I had to play for some frustrating time to separate the polarizer from a UV filter.

From the last issue: buy the slim filter only if you absolutely need to (extreme wide-angle lens) and stick with the normal one otherwise.

Bought both this and the 82 mm. Very glad I did. Much better than previous filters I've owned. That says something about both the filters and me I guess. Excellent for removing glare from water so details of stream bottom emerge. If you're reading reviews you already know about skies but how it works on wet vegetation is amazing. If not for cost - rating would be 5 stars. All in all, 4.8 of 5 ain't bad. Great with 2 stop ND.

I chose the B+W circular polarizer for use in landscape photography. Unlike many other polarizing filters on the market, the B+W has no color cast at all so for that reason alone it's worth every cent that I paid for it. I chose the slim version of this filter as it works well with wide angle lenses with no vignetting.

This seems to so far be a very high quality polarizer filter. The con is the end cap on you lens will not work so they include one the fits over the filter but it just falls off.
