The product appears to both function and operate as intended with good build quality and no resistance. The parts appear legitimate and well constructed, optimal for quickly and precisely adjusting or otherwise manipulating the position of additional equipment (such as the intended Photoflex XS Litedome) and camera flashes - in my case, the Canon 580EX II.
Instructions are written in the typical ambiguous and confusing fashion with accompanying 80's black and white photography. If assembling to other parts of for the first time, approach doing so slowly. Once repeated a few times, assembly of other parts onto the Shoe Mount is extraordinarily simple and quick.

I use it to mount my Nikon SB800 shoe mount flash units in various soft boxes for off-camera lighting. It works for that purpose but is not very sturdy. You have to carefully check that all the screws are tight, and they come loose very easily. In fact I always use some gaffers tape as a "safety belt" to ensure the SB800 stays in place.

Descent product wouldn't put a sunpak 622 on it. Which is what I wanted to use with it. They should of had the larger thread been the main thread. Works well for light flashes does the trick I'd recommend DIY [@]for a better & cheaper solution.

It took me a bit to figure out the best way to mount this up with the Photoflex Speed Ring and strip box, but after getting it all straightened out, it works like a charm. You can flip the modifier arm around if you need more clearance which I found I needed using it with the SB-600, but it's one threaded knob, so really, it's not a complicated piece of equipment.

Seems very durable despite other reviews to the contrary. I wish this was listed in the neccessary equipment for flash. I use it with a nikon sb-600 and the photoflex octodome 3' (set up also requires a speed ring - I use the photoflex basic.) The second shoe mount is good for a pocket wizard.

Comes with 2 shoemounts. Easy to assemble and travel with. Adjustable and secure. I can attach it to anything with a superclamp or mount it to a lightstand.

At first it was hard to use because there was no instruction manual, but after looking at it you can figure out how to use it. I like how it is adjustable.

This shoemount connector works perfectly for small litedomes and soft boxes. It can also be mounted on a flash frame pole to make a small lightbox with speed ring portable. the shoe mounts are very sturdy and their design accomodates a wide variety of shoe sizes. It is a very good alternative to the expensive magic slipper for small light boxes, however It will not support a large softbox.

Comments about Photoflex Adjustable Shoe Mount Connector for Small to Medium Litedome Softboxes:
The show mount came with the last X-small litedome I bought. It was nice to have both mounts, one for the flash and another for the PW. BUT, in a occasion, I was mounting the lights, the adjustable show mount connector fall off ON A CARPETED floor and one of the side knobs simply got broken. Fortunately, was the one at the tip because I do not move this one too much.
I am disappointed because of the bad quality material used to make the little side bolts... It seems to be like poor quality / very week metal alloy... and the thread is too thin/skinny/weak for the price of the part.
If there were another option to replace this part of the X-small litedome, I would NOT recommend this part. I like the litedome.. I DO NOT Like the quality of the Adjustable Shoe Mount Connector .

Good design idea, multiple mounting options. I'll be using this with a Photoflex Small Softbox, a Canon 430EX II, a hot shoe to mini plug, and a pocket wizard. I like that it's adjustable and gives options on how to mount with this connector. The fit and finish does need more refining. It feels like you have to torque the tightening knobs a bit (a little more than normal) to get a snug fit.

Tried set this up tonight with a Photoflex Medium box and their speedring.
First of all the mounting knurled screw female thread is 1/4-20. All my stands are 3/8. I was concerned that this was too small a post for the weight. Attached the softbox and bingo! The post snapped. The combination of the ring and box is just overload for that small hardware. I've emailed Photoflex a
couple of hours ago but as this is the week end I didn't expect a response yet.
Considering the country of mfg. I should not be surprised.

The adjustable shoe mount connector is used to attach flashes such as the Canon 580EXII to Photoflex softboxes.
As advertised, it can hold up to a Small 3' octodome but feels like it would break if a strong gust were to blow past.
The 2 hotshoe mounts enable 1 flash to be attached to the front and a wireless reciever at the back.
The adjustable height and mounts enable you to customize the connector to any size of flash you are using. It can even be adjusted to fit a Canon 580EXII on a PocketWizard Flex-TT5.

Bought to use w/a med. size soft box and hand held flash unit SB-800. I've had the SB-800 for several years, but up to now have been using off camera w/a TTL cord. I wanted the flexibility of shooting wireless. It attaches well to my light stand or I just have someone hand hold, so that's worked out great! You will definitely want the Umbrella Bracket with Adjustable Shoe, if you don't already have it.

This is a super important part of my wedding and on-location gear. I was a little unimpressed by the quality of the metal, a bit soft. It tends to bend and deform and a recent fall caused it to shear off. The new one I just bought appears to be a better quality metal, much harder. I think it'll last much longer.

I bought this to use with the 24x32 LITEDOME Q39 w/QUICK REL (MED). Works well with canon speedlites, even with a radio receiver in between (thanks to the adjustable mount) I use it with the yongnuo rf603 triggers.

I will admit this is the first bracket like this I have purchased but it is all metal and holds the speedlight well and mounts securely to the stand. It came as part of a kit.

This is the best way I've found to attach a small softbox to a shoe mount strobe for off-camera use on a light stand. Second shoe mount holds radio slave receiver. I just got this product, and it works great. Time will tell how durable the screw threads are, and whether or not the softbox mounting screw will break. If they stand up to pro use, this product is a winner.
