This is a versatile bracket that will fit on almost any light stand. It includes two removeable, reversible studs to adapt to light stands with top studs smaller than the standard 5/8 inch. It also includes a shoe mount, which will accept virtually any shoe-mount flash unit.
I have had the Impact adapter and the Westcott one that comes with their Medium Apollo kit and I was unimpressed by the security of the flash. On several occasions, my flash came flying out of my soft box, so I was looking for something better and found this. At first, I was a little unsure about the cold shoe, as it has no moving parts to clamp down and tighten your flash like the aforementioned ones. But with my Canon 600EX, I just turn the tighten switch on the flash halfway once it's in the shoe, and it's very secure. It's light and the knobs work very well. I also like that your flash cannot move forward like it can in most cold shoe clamp systems. A good product.
