Comments about Canon NP-E3 NiMH Battery (12v 1650mAh):
After using the original Canon NP-E3 since 2004, it IS time to buy another battery. I bought another brand 2 years ago that lasted all of 6 months before something came loose and it worked intermittently. After receiving the new NP-E3... well the holidays just passed, took hundreds of pictures and it still has charge. Recommendation, always buy Canon.

Comments about Canon NP-E3 NiMH Battery (12v 1650mAh):
I still use my 1D Mark IIn and needed to replace the battery as one of the originals I bought with the camera from B&H died recently. Yeah they lasted that long and I usually take 1,000 frames a week with this camera alternating the batteries. Recently one of them wouldn't process more than a few images and shut the camera down. The other works yet if I don't put it into AI Servo on high speed shutter. Thanks to B&H they still carry this battery and at less than what I paid for a spare when I bought this camera. I never was sold on aftermarket batteries so usually stay with OEM. Nobody would believe it, but I took 3,400 images plus one day at an air show on a single battery and it was still performing like it had a full charge.

Comments about Canon NP-E3 NiMH Battery (12v 1650mAh):
The old battery that came with my Canon EOS-1D Mark II camera so many years ago seemed to be dying. I had a big shoot coming up and I worried that my old battery wouldn't last the night. I was so happy to call and receive my new battery within 2 days. I charged it, used it that night and it is still going strong.

Comments about Canon NP-E3 NiMH Battery (12v 1650mAh):
After years of good service, I replaced my the Canon batteries for my 1Ds MkII with several off-brand batteries to save money. Big mistake. Initially, they performed well, but in a very short period, they just stopped holding a charge and would fail in a matter of minutes. I have now gone back to the Canon battery - never to stray again. The Canon battery will hold a charge longer, and will drain slowly, even when it's old. The drain rate is very linear. The drain rate of the off brand battery, on the other hand, is very non-linear, and would go from full charge to empty in seconds, leaving me unable to shoot just at the wrong time. Shooting sporting events, I need some warning, so that I can change batteries when it's convenient, not when it's necessary.

I bought a battery from a third party mfg that would not interlock with my Mark IIN model correctly so I'm sticking with Canon

I can't say enough good things about the Canon NP-E3 NiMH battery. I just had to buy another one as a back up after 5 years of using the one that came with my Mark IIN. Reliable and long lasting.

Can't beat a genuine Canon battery.
This sells for well over $300 here in Australia, so I'm glad to have got it for just over $100 from you guys.

Comments about Canon NP-E3 NiMH Battery (12v 1650mAh):
Great battery lasts a full day of shooting. Battery doesn't have a long life over extended time . . . Lasts for one year before holding under an hour of charge. Expensive battery for only lasting 1 year.

Comments about Canon NP-E3 NiMH Battery (12v 1650mAh):
Excellent original battery, working as it should,
Works out really well when these generation cameras using these batteries now get a bit old.
Tried no name batteries and definitively not worth it for professional use;
Got my previous batteries during 3-5 years and they started being used/tired.
Now see the great difference and improvement. Back with a new set and the Camera loves it too ,)

Comments about Canon NP-E3 NiMH Battery (12v 1650mAh):
This product works well, fits well, lasts well. There are aftermarket products that may do one (sometimes, if you're lucky), but often not the other(s). Of course, there are always exceptions. Finding those exceptions is another thing.

This original Canon battery gives me more around 1200 images on 1 full charge!!!! This is exactly what I was after and I'm very happy, and no memory effect what so ever.

Comments about Canon NP-E3 NiMH Battery (12v 1650mAh):
I had two old batteries that combined would barely hold enough charge for a day of shooting. I bought this because I was going to be on safari and needed a reliable battery - I was very satisfied!

Comments about Canon NP-E3 NiMH Battery (12v 1650mAh):
I am a weekend hobbyist and part time semi professional photographer. After receiving the battery from B & H in May 2011, the battery has been charged once and after nearly 1000 captures, the battery still shows a full charge a month later.
Aside from being bulky (about the size of a small woman's shoe), there is nothing negative to report at this point. At the rate I am going, the battery should hold a charge for at least 2 to 3 years.

Comments about Canon NP-E3 NiMH Battery (12v 1650mAh):
I've been using two of these batteries since 2005, and they could each last for up to 2 weeks of shooting at a time. They only started to lose their ability to hold a charge about 2 years ago, so I finally bought a new one. I had almost forgotten how good this battery is! I can shoot a few thousand shots without any worry at all.

I use these batteries for more then 6 years and this time as they become weaker I buy new ones, I know they will last more then 6 years again.
