The C451 B Reference Small-Diaphragm Condenser Microphone from AKG features a cardioid condenser design and can be used for recording instruments with a high transient response. It offers a small diaphragm for minimizing handling noise and is suitable for drum kit, percussion, overhead cymbal, and hi-hat recording. There is a switchable 75 Hz / 150 Hz high pass filter for eliminating low-end rumble and enhancing the airy character of the microphone's audio signal. The C451 B provides a flat, on-axis frequency response, enabling performance capturing without signal coloration. The microphone provides 9 to 52V of phantom power and selectable 10 dB / 20 dB pads for maximum signal management. A windscreen, stand adapter, and microphone bag are included.
Cardioid Polar Pattern
The 451B attenuates around the off-axis (side) sections of the microphone, resulting in a directional pick up pattern.
Switchable 10 dB or 20 dB pads increase the microphone's SPL capability when close-miking high-energy sound sources or driving preamps and mixers with limited headroom.
Switchable High pass Filters
Switchable high pass filters (75 Hz or 150 Hz, 12 dB/octave) accentuate mid- and high-end presence by minimizing unnecessary low-end frequencies.
The 451B features a fixed capsule, eliminating the mechanical problems of screw on capsules.
Flat Frequency Response
Ruler-flat on-axis frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 KHz (±1.5 dB) provides accurate recordings without added coloration.
Protect your audio from wind noise with a windscreen.
