Sometimes cheap and easy solutions provide benefits that far outweigh the cost. In this instance, isolating one's monitors from what they are standing on, be it speaker stands or the meter bridge of a console, can provide an instant improvement in bass response and stereo imaging. The MoPAD Monitor Isolation Pads from Auralex provide sonic isolation between monitors and whatever they are resting on, instantly improving the accuracy of the entire monitoring system.
MoPAD Monitor Isolation Pads are affordable, easy to implement and really effective at de-coupling monitors from the room and all its contents. No matter how good the mixing desk, microphones, preamps, cables and other pieces of gear that have been patiently accumulated, one is not truly hearing what the recordings sound like until the monitors are insulated from their environment.

We're using these with M-Audio BX-8 monitors, and they make a huge difference. The pads are adjustable (so the speakers can be level, angled up or tilted down) and fit the speakers well.Getting the speakers off the tabletop and insulating them from the desk clears up the imaging and gives better definition, especially to the lower tones. The only reason I didn't give them five stars is that [$] seems a little much for 8 pieces of foam, but hey, they do the job.

Can't beat the price. There are some heftier isolation pads out there, but none that can compete at this price point!

I have 3 Mopads under each of my Mackie MR8's and my monitors instantly sounded better. The other 2 Mopads are under my Korg EMX, giving it support and a nice raise/tilt. Versatile because there are 4 different ways you can tilt your monitors. Causes less vibrations while playing the EMX also, and a great price from B&H.

I have to say that after being a bit skeptical about the added benefit intially, I am very pleased with results that these produce. Obviously they don't provide complete bass isolation being almost impossible to do so even with the most high end isolation. For the price these provide far more isolation than i would have anticipated. Also, each mopad has a thin foam wedge, allowing you to keep your monitors flat or at any angle of choice, which is very nice to have.

If for no other reason, these are useful to elevate the speaker angle! They also seem to take my console out of the sound mix...low end is clearer, and there is absolutely no rattle.

These are just a bunch of pieces of cut foam. Yes, it is good high density foam, and it is well cut.. but that is it. This is worth 10 bucks tops.

Not much to say but they work great sitting on top of a Winsted rack. Sturdy and stable with a Tannoy Reveal 6 speaker on them.

Does what it claims...separates your speakers from the desk or mounts to eliminate reverberations that affect the way your audio sounds.
Only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is because the pads on one of mine are a little uneven (not the same height). It's only off by a little bit, but it's kind of annoying to be staring at it all day every day.

Just fine. They angle the speakers down and don't cause funky reflections.
