The Canare breakaway cable features dual XLR female and dual XLR male connectors for main audio feeds, to and from field mixers. Stereo 1/8" (3.5mm) mini male connectors provide a secondary option for cameras and audio devices without XLR connectors. A 1/8" female output is provided for headphone monitoring. The cable length is 15' (4.57m).
I just bought this 15ft. version because my 25ft. version had an issue. I traced it to the wires connecting to the breakaway connector. Turns out they were soldered well, but the insulation was stripped to far back so that they could touch each other and cause an intermittent connecting resulting in the sound cutting out. I fixed that by putting electrical tape on the bare parts and it works just fine now. It looks as though twisting of the cable over time caused the wires to touch. Now I have two cables in case one goes bad on a shoot.
This product has more than served its purpose with us. We were able to run two mixers and a recording device for a low cost because of this fine piece of gear.
