Very nice
Seems to be pretty high quality (it better be for the price, right?). The maximum length of throw is adjustable from about 14-20mm - not a huge range, but I guess it's a nice feature that it can be adjusted. I was more concerned with the maximum it could be set to. Many of my cameras will not fire with the very short throw releases that seem to be most common these days. I also really like the locking ring on this. Far superior to any other release I've ever used. Usually, barely touching the lock ring is enough to move it to the locking position (they move out of the non-locking position way too easily). This one though, is very secure in either the locking or non-locking position. It will never 'accidentally' move from one to the other. The lock ring tightens down securely into the non-locking position, and then requires a full rotation to put it into the locking position. Once in the locking position, a simple press on the lock ring releases it - like any other cable release. The fact that the lock right tightens down so securely in the non-locking position was unexpected though - but I'm very glad it is that way. Hopefully this is the last cable release I'll have to buy - time will tell. I've certainly spent enough on lesser ones that I would have saved money buying this first - assuming of course that it stands the test of time, which so far, I see no reason that it won't. I've included pictures with the pin extended, because for some reason this very important piece of information is never included in the specs or photos of cable releases.
Nice Cables But...
These are good sturdy cables but from my two the button on the top fell off, never to be found again. Not expected from the high price. I used Sugru to make new ones and some super glue on the connection.
