Comments about Manfrotto 525MVB Professional Video Tripod Legs (Black):
I needed to upgrade to a tripod that had the load capacity and the fluid pan head control for my FX1000 set up. I have added additional weight in features to my camera like XLR adapter, CF recorder, wide angle lens with french flag mat box.
The 519 fluid head handles this set up with ease.
The tripod is a common design with the bottom splitter and two stage legs. So there are cheaper brands wit the same features but I tend to stick to one brand once I purchase an item.

This set of legs is a good value. It is compact, stable, light and easy to use. I chose it because it simulates the larger Ronford legs I often use for larger camera systems.

I use this with a Sony EX3 and a 503HDV PRO FLUID VIDEO HEAD, works great. Spreaders on bottom come of to give you three independent legs. Have only used it a few time so far but has been great.

Comments about Manfrotto 525MVB Professional Video Tripod Legs (Black):
very smooth - the joints are a bit stiff and you have to step on the spreader to extend the legs, but they can take the weight of my camera (HPX500) and I'm quite pleased.

Sturdy, strong and reliable! Stands up very tall and can get pretty low also! I got this with a 501 Fluid Head...I can't complain, it gets the job done smoothly.

Use with the 501 Fluid Head and a Canon XHA1. Is a little heavy but can't beat the ruggedness and stability for tripod in this price range.

Comments about Manfrotto 525MVB Professional Video Tripod Legs (Black):
I use this tripod for an HVX-200, Canon XL-2, various still photography, and some of the lighter 16mm film cameras.
Its overkill for all but the last of these, but I much prefer having SOLID sticks as opposed to something cheaper, lighter weight, and less durable.
The only addition I'd like to see them add is wheels/ rollers for the legs - but those can probably be purchased separately.

Comments about Manfrotto 525MVB Professional Video Tripod Legs (Black):
I use my 525MVB with a 519 pro fluid head with dual pan handles and remote focus/zoom controls connected to a JVC GY-HD110U high definition video camera with a shoe-mounted 8" LCD viewfinder monitor to shoot video for my church's weekly television broadcast. My pastor moves a LOT -- all over the santuary. I often find myself at full zoom capturing head-shots and this rig holds the camera rock-steady.
