The Yamaha NS-C444 is a center channel speaker with dual 5" polymer-injected mica diaphragm woofers and a 1" aluminium dome tweeter, which is paired with a waveguide horn for enhanced directivity to the listening area. When paired with your amplifier or receiver, the NS-C444 will primarily produce dialogue, while the rest of your speakers create the ambient sound effects. This helps enhance the clarity of dialogue when watching a movie or television program.
Two-Way Acoustic Suspension Center Channel Speaker
The NS-C444 center channel speaker has been designed specifically for home theater applications. The speaker uses an acoustic suspension design and incorporates dual 5" polymer-injected mica diaphragm cone woofers and a 1" aluminum dome tweeter. For improved imaging, the tweeter utilizes Yamaha's waveguide horn.
Waveguide Horn
Unlike most homes, movie theaters use sound absorbing materials on walls and ceilings. The result is that the sound reaching your ears is the sound wave produced by the speakers rather than reflected off the walls. Yamaha has created wave guides that greatly reduce reflected sound and increase the proportion of directly generated sound waves reaching your ears. The result is a clear and precise sense of sound direction and placement.
Magnetic Shielding
The speaker is magnetically shielded, so it can be placed on a TV or video monitor without degrading the picture via stray magnetic fields.
Elliptical Cabinet
The NS-C444 is enclosed in an elliptical form cabinet with a high-gloss black finish, which provides solid construction with minimal sound diffraction.
Cloth Grille
The design of the removable cloth grille provides an acoustically transparent protective cover for the drivers.
