This holds my expensive mics. It is strong, sturdy, and I am not afraid of it tumbling if I bump it. Excellent stand!

Comments about AKG KM210/21 Extra Tall Tripod (Black):
I use this boom stand for my interview mic and it's excellent. It's made in Germany and has a solid construction with a flexible design. It's so tall that I can get the mic above someone's head even if they're standing. It's also very heavy so it's stable even in a brisk wind. However, it's so heavy that I would recommend getting a travel bag for it. Also, I got a velcro rip-tie for securing the boom to the legs when it's collapsed for travel. I think that it can also double as a light stand if the lamp is small, maybe a hair light for interviews?

I have 2 microphone tripods and only one very good one. This KM210/21 is excellent mic stand. Very solid construction. Even fully extended provide rock solid stability.

Comments about AKG KM210/21 Extra Tall Tripod (Black):
I just used a pair of the tripods at children's Christmas program at church. I had them raised to the maximum height and the arm projected out the maximum also. The tripods were very solid and I had no worry of them falling over. They are very flexible on different arrangements for positioning the mics.

Comments about AKG KM210/21 Extra Tall Tripod (Black):
This is a great stand. I was worried it woud be a tall version of some of the cheesy stands I currently own. No way! Solid steel construction results in a very heavy base, and it is plenty tall, without the convenience of a fully foldable base. Highly recommended for over drums, omnis on grand piano, or similar applications.

I use a couple of these stands for location recording. I love the height and reach of the stands compared to my other smaller AKG stands. These are just so much more stable and substantial than those.
