Cast metal construction seems pretty bombproof. They are perfect for my AT853 mini-mics. One potential drawback is they don't screw all the way down on my AKG KM235/1 Stereo Microphone Bar threads (the screw bottoms out in the mount). A pair of garden hose rubber washers took care of this problem.

Community Answer is correct, the SMTMICRO is designed for the Audix Micro Series which is all 12mm diameter
