I use this as a hobby. I have had really good results with this film. There are better films that produce a slightly finer picture but for the money and uses, it is a nice fit. A good all around film to use. Very consistant results from roll to roll.

If Kodak ever halts production of TX400 I may have to stop shooting film. My go-to film for pretty much anything.

It seems every time I order film these days some old favorite is no longer available. Thank goodness for old reliable. I've been rolling my own tri-x for more than a quarter century. Never a hitch. For me Tri-x is the gold standard for 35mm black and white film.

If you are shooting a ton of rolls of film and have the time/patience to roll your own film, this is an incredibly cost saving measure. One downside is the fact you have to either buy your own canisters or you need to go to a local photo place to get them used. You also have to have a bulk film loader accessible (which are not too expensive to buy). Everything with this is an initial investment that really saves you money later. The roll makes about 20 rolls of 36 exposures.
The film itself is great and easy to use. Good exposures for all levels of photographer and little graininess in the prints.

I find the Tri-X bulk roll a great deal - because you have the freedom to load how many exposures you need and of course it's a lot cheaper. Tri-X is a great film with a long history behind it. Very good to push even to 3200 ASA.

I've been using bulk Tri-X for about 6 years now and I love it. Many people ask me if the film doesn't get scratched during the loading process and the answer is NO it doesn't. I make about 18 to 19 rolls of 36 exp. each depending on how many shots I leave in the 'front of the film'.
I love bulk Tri-X and hope that it'll be produced for many years to come.

A lot of value for a classic film bulk roll. The stuff is easy to deal with, and lasts forever - several rolls resurrected from the late '80s were still salvageable at the present time with minimal fogging and hardly any good care in between. Easy developing, with equally easy pushing to 1600 with just a little longer w/ 1:1 D76. Yes, still the best for the classic street photography approach. Good grain - if you're not a grain fan, try Tmax or the lower speeds.

Nothing beats TriX you can go on chat rooms, or talk till your blue in the face this is a solid good film for all around shooting, mostly used in street work. Total process time 21 minutes, D76 1:1 @ 11.5 minutes.
